PG&E declared bankruptcy after Paradise burned down. They are excoriated for fires caused by downed lines and they are excoriated for turning the power off so those fires don't happen. Lose or lose, take your choice.

Hm that’s true. I guess turning the power off temporarily to check the lines is probably better than not.

I think the point is you have to WANT to stop the addiction and get help to do so. "Just say no" only works for some.

You are allowed to have and impart information even if you are retired

X2!! I love hearing/learning about it.

And yeah, won’t work if you don’t want to and no one can force them to get better if they don’t actually want to so there’s at least a little bit of willpower/strength, at least to stay clean, even if forced into rehab or something and even if it is mostly in the brain/physical but still.

I do know up here we have fire teams burning off underbrush and felling bad trees they are selling trees to the small mills to clear some they have a budget just like anything else they have been doing what was stopped when they killed logging

To be fair to the power company, they are trying to keep thousands of acres from burning down again this year...

And didn’t they have a lawsuit last year because of some faulty equipment contributing to one of those huge fires?

I don’t like monopolies any more than the next gal, but preventing devastating fires that ruin forests, communities, homes, and kill firefighters and others seems like a pretty good goal.

trumpeting, that is a beautiful picture. I used to love going to see my parents in KY in the fall, when all the trees would change colors. That doesn't happen in this part of Florida.
