The Old Folks Home

How are all the boys and the spouse?
Boys are good.... all 5 are back home, had you heard that?

Eldest is finally --slowly-- getting himself together and working on online college. Looks like that is actually going to work.

Second is actually socializing... of course just with hordes of girls... no boys in the pack. :rolleyes: Dang child is kind and so good socially, that everyone loves him. :oops: Scares the snot out of me. Mostly because I was HORRID as a child. As far as I can tell though, he is being good. Not sure why my boys are so good...

Kid three is still being great at his job. His boss loves him, can't praise him enough. He is being good , and saving half of what he earns. And it looks like he will get his driver's license this fall... yeah.. the first. (21 and 18 year old don't have one). But the 16 year old is a better driver.... so I am happy about that.

I do need to bump up the insurance on the main car though... in case he totals it (not that I think he will be a bad driver... but just to be safe).. . To save money we only have liability on the cars.. our newest car is almost 14 years old... and most are just barely hanging on... the "new" almost 14 year old one has so much duct tape on it... :rolleyes:

I was just starving today. .

Spouse was on a semi-rampage thing running around the house doing stuff... I came in after my coffee morning (my one social thing I do every week), and I hadn't eaten yet... wanted to save money so I was waiting to eat at home...

I came in at almost 3... and had only had 2 cups of coffee..... and there was meatloaf on the stove hot from the oven! I took 2 bites and then was shooed away... turns out the meatloaf was for tomorrow coffee hour... and spouse had other stuff planned for the kitchen.... so I snuck off... was scared to make a snack

Didn't get to eat until almost 7!

Food was great though... homemade mashed potatoes, brussel sprouts cooked in lots of bacon, and a chicken breast. But I just about died waiting to be fed. :th
 
In the oven bought the best brussle sprouts at fullers in Chehalis still on the stalk
precook bacon crumble then 400 oven shake them in a bag with olive oil salt and pepper shake cover a cookie sheet with foil spray it with olive oil spread the brussle then spread bacon through cook 30 minutes we had eaten ours already
 
It is healthier! Cut back slowly on the honey if you need to cut the sugar. I slowly stopped putting sugar on grapefruit years ago, and now I don’t like it with sugar! I eat almost all fruit with no sugar. Or honey. It actually tastes better to me. Sugar masks some of the flavor.

Good for you! Tuna is quite healthy! You will feel better and you will be proud enough of yourself to exercise!

And yeah, the weird thing is I normally do eat and love fruit without anything on it, I could and do sometimes eat it right out of the carton, but I was worried the frozen would be bitter. It wasn’t and I could barely even taste the honey cause the heat let loose all the fruit juices. :drool

Although for a while I was eating goats milk yogurt, fresh fruit, and honey for breakfast. :drool

But I’m trying not to eat dairy now. Guess that means I gotta forget the whipped cream too.

Fruit I can eat without sugar but where I really have a problem is with tea. I pour so much honey in there it's ridiculous. :hide

And thanks!! I think I might start eating more fish and chicken and less beef. Beef always kinda bogs me down even though I’ve been eating it with veggies lately. Course that could be more the char/burnt flavor than the beef itself but still. :lau :hide

What I really want to do is start exercising regularly! That and actually get up and do something and stop letting life fly by while I sit on the sidelines. :hide

Kinda like I had to cut out as much salt as I could manage when I was pg. Afterwards everything seems to salty to me - so was a good thing.

I definitely way over salt. :hide

I know it sounds stupid but I’m kinda proud because I really wanted something sweet and usually would have said ah screw it and just had the bread and the jelly. :oops: and earlier I did have a chocolate cupcake. :oops: but I controlled myself this time and ate the fruit instead of jelly. I don’t know if it is much healthier or less sugary but at least it is real fruit and real raw/local honey.

Sometimes you also need baling wire. Though I'm not sure anyone uses that anymore, seems to only be string on hay now.

That and actually get up and do something and stop letting life fly by while I sit on the sidelines. :oops:
