Long fur for a Siamese! Maybe he is a mix with a Maine Coon cat. They are huge; 18 lbs would be a common weight for them.

True, I didn’t realize Siamese came in long coats or that they got so big but maybe they do? Off to Google now.. :lau but he does have a bit of a Maine coon look to him.

I always thought the long-haired cats with Siamese markings were Himalayan, but not from any technical knowledge.

Maine Coons are sweethearts, at least the ones I’ve met. Siamese, not always! In any case, @penny1960 , he is a beautiful cat!

Apparently you’re right. Although I’m not sure what the difference between the Himalayan and the Balinese is... maybe Himalayan is a different color?

And I’ve always wanted a Maine coon but bet they are expensive to feed and to buy ha

I always see “Maine coon” or “Maine Coon mix” kittens on Craigslist when really it’s clear they’re just tabbies or strays or some are even crazy colors or short haired and totally not one! Seems every long haired kitten ever gets dubbed a Maine coon in New England lol even short haired cats sometimes!

Never heard them called Balinese! Penny, you should tell everyone he is Balinese. Now that sounds exotic!

Me neither! Also didn’t know the Siamese is the founder of so many breeds! I find that pretty cool haha though of course it seems to mostly just be color and fur varieties of the same cat but still. I never really understood that about show animals. Why restrict the gene pool so much and make it a totally separate breed when you could just have different varieties of the same breed? Especially since sometimes different varieties pop up in the same litter I’m sure.

And :lau yes! X2!!
