The Old Folks Home

Man oh man I look at all that downed wood and all I can think is 'Mother nature produced FIREWOOD!' That is the best kind! Don't have to worry about dangerous fellings, just cut the slash, chain the rounds, haul it to the barn/splitter and you are good to go!

We usually have storms like that here in the spring. April and May mainly. I think our biggest gusts were 58 mph with a storm. That is plenty strong enough for me.

Glad you and yours are all okay, KDOGG. Looks like your chooks are happy with the treat!

I do have a tortilla press... and will venture into that later on when i try my hand at Tamalies.
We have one, heavy cast iron. The only "problem" is there is a handle hinged on one side so that side of the tortilla gets more pressure than the rest, have to turn it 3 times and press again to get them flat. Would be nice if it was a center screw press, don't know if they make them that way though.

Just make sure the power is off on the electric lines those free trees are holding down ;)

That is very true!! Definitely a lot of firewood!! Especially those oaks. :love

Yeah, we usually get them bad in the winter and early spring. Never usually this early.

And thank you! We are too. Watching the news and we got lucky.

And yes they definitely did!!! Haha

:lau good idea!! Watching stories of lines arcing and causing fires. Scary.

Thankfully we’ve got plenty on our property away from power lines. :D
