The Old Folks Home

Needle point not in my wheel house beautiful Cap morning old folks
hope all are well this morning wet grass from fog but not suppose to drizzle on us till tonight past 11 pm
Thanks Penny, I enjoy it.

Thanks @dsqard.

@CapricornFarm, where do you find the time? That is beautiful.
Micro, any time I sit down to watch TV, mostly in the evenings, out it comes. I hand quilted a King sized quilt since July. All the piecing and bindings, plus the quilting all hand sewn. Probably the only reason my fingers still work.

Never smoke. Never wanted to. Both of my parents smoked. I hated the smell of cigarette butts and ash trays but I can still remember being under 5 and asking her what one tasted like. She had just lit one and handed it to me and told me to inhale deeply. I did and turned green then tried to hack up a lung. She had me take another inhale. That was enough for me. Couldn't make me smoke another one.

If you can't be a good role model, then be a horrible example. Watched both my dad and grandfather waste away and die from smoking related diseases (emphasema, COPD), and so never wanted to no matter how *cool* it looked. I'm fairly convinced my growth was stunted by the household's secondhand smoke. Found out when dating that if I kissed somebody who smoked I was poisoned for, like, days. (Kind of the anti-Prince Charming effect.)

Sorry I haven't tuned in lately, Been swamped with yard maintenance and life in general. Whether you're having fun (or not), time flies.

Lately when I sit down, Cap, I seem to be studying for the next upgrade for my HAM license. Right now I'm a General Class operator which is good, but there is one more grade and that is called Extra. It's tough. Lots of techobabble about capacitors, resistors, amplifiers and the like. Makes my brains hurt but I feel that if I don't do it before long my brain will turn to old mush and I'll never be able to absorb it all.

So the quilts are standing by waiting for me.

Wanted to make my 7,000th post here among friends at the home!

So here it is, old folks! Post #7,000!
