It's pouring rain here. All day. Should be glad it isn't snow but frankly....I wish it was. It's still in the low 50s here. We haven't had a December this mild in years. Of course we had a miserable October with snow on Halloween so maybe we are just catching a break! Until January hits us up alongside the head.

I didn't even let the birds out. I cleaned yesterday. Scraped, shoveled, scraped some more. Then clipped toe nails and fended off the attentions of an overly amorous SWD cockerel who thinks my hand is the most romantic beautiful little hen that he's ever seen. He's only 4 months old so I'm cutting him a break and just finding him adorable at this moment. He'll probably attach himself to my foot at some point in the future. Hopefully he'll discover real girls before that happens.

I just couldn't bear the thought of washing mud off of my eggs today.

I did have a great day but ended up with a mild sunburn! 70° and Sunny here. I planted, dug, fed, watered, collected logs for the run skirt etc. Ate out for supper, went shopping. Planned a quilt and sewed some squares for the new quilt. These steroids are great!

I have three white silkie hens in my garden and I never have to pry off the clay. I just don't let them out if it's wet. They had great fun digging and scratching today.

My son is going home tomorrow but today we had a very nice supper with my brother also, at TGIF. Very pleasant waiter that had us smiling. People just seem to be in a better mood this season. I hope it will become permanent.

We had a warm spell up here for the last few days, but now the big storm in the Midwest is headed this way. Unfortunately, a mix of freezing rain, sleet, and snow is expected, rather than the skier’s preference!

Yeah, we got a LOT of rain over the past two days. I looked out the living room window yesterday and observed that the gutters are clogged...usually something that we don't worry about this time of the year.

We already hit the high of 50 degrees today. Temps dropping throughout the morning to something like 29 by 5pm.

Still temps way mild for this time of the year. Either the Farmer's Almanac is WRONG, or winter is just going to arrive sometime in April.

@CapricornFarm, so glad that you had a good day and the steroid 'blossom' hit you. Yeah, our house is never cleaner than it is when I get a kenolog or pred shot. Of course I don't sleep for a week but man I'm a cleaning and organizing machine in the meantime!
