The Old Folks Home

We have been getting about 15-30 minutes of filtered sunlight a day. Very depressing not to see the sun.

But a silver lining on those clouds. It's supposed to be something like 61 on Sunday.

Good bye snow, hello muck! Maybe I can coax the chickens out for a bit of wading around in the mud.

I read a headline today that said the snow pack in the Sierras is lower than average. That is bad news for the summer. Traditionally we get most of our surface water from the snow pack.

They say that here to Ron but same breath they say we have had record rain fall
can't win for loosing right
The storms have to be cold enough for snow at the higher elevations. Apparently many of ours have been to warm this year.

A new reservoir Is in the works for the western side of the Valley. It will get water pumped from the Sacramento River. That way some of the water that runs off into the ocean will be stored for summer

Our temps here are expected to be average here but precip above average for the next 14 days.

I knew mother nature had an ace up her sleeve when it was almost 70 degrees on Christmas.

Ron, if I could send you some snow I would. Trust me! I want to get rid of it!

I hope that there is some snow up in the mountains when the next storm comes is and that you can get some sun shine!

So, when the shoppers shop for you, do they shop like my husband?
I wonder the same thing and as such I wouldn't trust the store shopper to pick out my fruits/veg/meat unless I knew them personally.

What's the old saying? Live fast die young and leave a good looking corpse....?

Think I missed out on all three of those....:lau
Just two! You were pretty fast on those recumbents.

Eh, way too few clouds here.... makes it colder.

For us cloud cover = warmer temps.
Same here. Cloud cover also means less electricity. I LIKE my electricity though I'm not all as fond of the 0°F and below temps that come with clear winter skies. Made over 36 kWh both today and yesterday with the associated cold weather.

Yeah, we have been around zero for awhile now. Just stuck without clouds...so cold...

And I hate super cold snow... I plowed yesterday, and when spouse came home I asked how good of a job I had done...the response was "You plowed? Didn't even see tire tracks", all of that snow that I pushed was blown right back onto the driveway.

I plowed again today...but I think we are warming up and hit the teens...maybe that is warm enough that the snow will stay put.
