The Old Folks Home

I am doing well more house cleaning and packing. I am staying in ordering food delivered or doing take out. Lifestyle hasnt changed.

Got cleaning supplies for work up at the house. Going to be tedius because they recomment NOt vaccuuming mouse and rat Poo.

Got the Rat poison I wanted too its called RatX and its made of corn cob Salt egg fish oil and wheat. Its safe for wild life. So if a critter consumes it and a predatore eats the critter he or she wont be poisoned.

I also got TomCat which has anti coagulent. But the amount they eat is very tiny.. The recomment using it only indoors.

The RatX can be used out in the coop by the way as long as you put it in a chicken proof bait station. the pellets themselves are pretty benign but if eaten in large quantites could be lethal. Same goes for any livestock. Bait Stations only.

Oh and if I go up to the house I am smudging the house with sage and I am staying the night. Got to start sometime.

This whole Corona deal has me kind of ramping up to hysterical... and I need to detach from it.

It is pretty overwhelming. I was getting freaked out, but I went outside and planted some strawberries.

Wait....you can buy beer and wine where you buy your feed? Dang, I gotta get the MFA on the ball!:lau

DH got 250 pounds of layer pellets, 50 scratch, 100 pounds of dog food for the bottomless pits and a sack of cat food today. We are good for 2-3 months now and don't have to worry....at least about that.
No, the beer and wine was at Walmart. Lol.

All are well here in our area of VA, as far as I know. Bought 15 , 50 lb. bags of feed today. Had to wait for them to unload the truck, as they were out of layer pellets. Got T posts for $2.29 ! And a roll of garden fencing. Got hubby 3 cases of his favorite beer and 2 bottles of wine. My cart was very heavy by the time I got to my truck.
Few weeks ago we stopped at a home depot, good organic potting soil big bags on pallets left over from last yr were $1.80 on sale. DW told me to grab two, they were froze solid, super heavy..hey I need a cart..your alright..dude that works there asked if I needed a cart..no he's ok..made it out.
Did a little more shopping then she got thinking maybe we should stop back and buy a few more bags, cheaper than the little tiny bags come spring.
ONLY IF I CAN USE A CART!!
Wasn't like they were dog or chicken food bags I could throw over my shoulders they were soaked frozen solid blocks.
Good deal though we are set for awhile.

I will trade you one 1.5 cubic foot of organic potting soil for a roll of toilet paper :gig:lau

Even here in rural ny, 4.5hrs from NYC, certain things wiped out from the stores.
DW and my older DDs laughed at me yrs ago when I started semi prepping. Several yrs ago we just lost power for a few days, been prepared ever since. (short term but but better than nothing) . Actually I've 'semi prepared' since 2000 when they thought everything was going to crash.
They said "Why" and laughed...you never know... natural disaster, man made disaster, scary emp that destroys our electric grid, never know, better to be prepared before not try after. They thought I was nuts but we are good right now.
Told DW the city people will come up here and clean us out, millions of them they have to go somewhere. She said nah they ain't going to come this far..
Last Fri , we usually shop on the weekends, she decided to go to town NOW, closest grocery store small town, wow, of course tp gone, any rice gone, all flour gone (didn't even know people still knew what to do with that), most canned food gone, bread gone, still lots there so not a wasted trip. One thing she did notice, the crowd, and all the NYC accents, strange people not locals, and the NJ license plates in the parking lot..
"Told you this would happen, imagine if this was a major disaster"...
One thing I never thought of or bought, is tp, good thing I like to save $ and usually get big packs so we still have a 12pk, hopefully the freaks are stocked up now.

Anyone remember, of course you do you'all are old... Jamesway must have been '95 they closed because I graduated '94 and a buddy of mine worked there after we graduated and it wasn't long after. They in their bathroom to dry your hands had a towel dispenser that was a cloth towel, that you could pull to find a dry spot, just one single cloth towel on a roll with a metal dispenser like the paper one's are now. Super sanitary
I feel so weird right now, washing my hands after returning from the store, and washing my beer cans before I drink from them

Cold here still.
