Sadly, the untrue things about gates and maybe even true things will be used to get people to not get vaccinated. It is likely coming from those that want to cause unrest in our Country.

The US will not get back to normal until enough are vaccinated to create herd immunity.

I am of course old enough to remember polio and life with it. Smallpox was a thing when I was growing up to.

I do not know enough about Bill Gates to decide either way about him. I do care about all of the death from this pandemic though.

I remember small pox vaccine. they stabbed you a hundred times with a needle.

The scar for me was around the size of a dime. and puffed up in the middle. my skin is very resiliant. and over time scars just blend in and are hard to find. Unless you move a certain way then it showes up.

I got thrown from my horse over her shoulder and rolled under neath while she scrambled over the top. She tried soo hard to not step on me but her toe grazed my face. The cut was about an inch long. Bled profusely but was done bleeding by the time my boyfriend and I finished the ride. He switched horses with me because his horse was more reliable.

The scar lasted about seven or eight years and now I only have a hint of it when I smile a certain way.

In Davis, the Farmers market is considered essential....

We have a farmers market that really ain't a farmers market some people think it is. Just a big open air and greenhouses private owned. The produce is the same as grocery stores just cheaper. They are shutdown cause place pretty busy usually, which sucks cause I get a lot of plants there.

We just really need a vaccine....

Because there is no way that this will "go away"

But I like vaccines to be safe, so I don't want them to rush too much.

They don't always develop vaccines. I hope they do though.

I haven't been to a big box store or any town/city that has them since this started. Just small grocery store and dollar store town I work. The other day DW wanted me to pick up some stuff, then said or we both could go to another town that has a Price Chopper. Really wish we didn't. Place was packed. Half the people wearing masks and gloves, made me feel real uncomfortable. Only supposed to go one way down a aisle (how you supposed to do that when people just standing there trying to keep six foot distancing ?) I didn't want to get near anybody. Go down a aisle and wait, then realizing the two people spaced out ahead of you are backed up in a check out lane. Not going there again. Can't imagine going to a Wal-Mart right now.

Diva, Both Dh, and Dd #1 wear masks if they have to go out. I would too, but Dh really doesn't want me going out in public for now, so I've honored his request to stay home. Anything I need, or want, if I can't get it delivered, they will get for me. I try to arrange a pick-up order, for groceries, and such, to minimize risk of exposure. Dd #1 goes, she's got gloves, mask, and disrobes in the garage when she gets home, and tosses her clothes in the washer, then runs to shower. In the meantime, I have Oxine mixed in a spay bottle, and mist down her shoes, then mist the grocery bags. I take things in, then wipe everything down with a dishrag, that's been in fresh soapy dishwater. So far, so good.

Sounds like SOP here, Clue.

I'm heading into town this morning. I will be masked and gloved but will not get out of the van. The local MFA lets me call them in an order. They give me the total. I tell them I'll be there at a certain time, have it ready to be loaded. When I get there they will have the order stacked on the loading dock. I open the van doors before they get there and scramble back into the van. They load it, I had them the check and I'm out of there.

I really HATE what the world has turned into thanks to this virus. Now they are saying that they suspect that it originated in dogs.

Why can't they be truthful about it? Why is everybody so danged afraid to 'hurt' China's feelings?

I read a headline on the news this morning that read that China said that the US better start funding WHO again OR ELSE! Or else what? Are they going to open up another wet market right next to a communicable disease lab? Eat some weird animal that isn't supposed to be eaten and then cough on everyone? Sorry, been done already.

micro, you'd have to check, if your state is allowing the hydroxchloroquine/z-pac treatment. If so, it does work, and works well.

There is no current scientific evidence that it works. They are running trials but to say it works well it not factual.

I know I had the small pox vaccine but I have no scar. Given you are a mere 1 year older than me I'm sure it would have been the same vaccine. Lucky those people born after 1972 when the vaccine was no longer needed.

Sadly my small grocery store is doing "call in order, pick up outside, $50 minimum". They've closed all deli service and that would likely be $20 of my weekly purchases. I don't know if I would hit the $50 minimum. And who knows if they will have what I want? And what they would substitute if they didn't and would it be something I would NOT choose as a substitute? And how do I get my off road diesel?

bruce, to say it works well, is factual. Far too many medical professionals, and patients attest to it. Scientific testing takes time, which we don't have right now, but short term, small preliminary studies, confirm it's effective. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0924857920300996. There has been a more recent study, with a larger test group, and once again, fantastic results. All over the world, doctors are attesting to the fact that it's working. Top New York doctors, treating cases both before, and after the treatment was made available, are attesting to it's success, in over 930 cases (none died). Other top notch doctors, in other states, are reporting the same. That can't be discredited, simply because scientists have not YET had the time to confirm it.

Be aware that Big Pharma stands to gain trillions for a vaccine, especially if there is no alternative treatment. Of course they're going to do all they can to campaign against any alternative treatment.

Use of a treatment with drugs not approved specifically for what is being treated, is called off-label use. That does not mean they don't work, and work well, it just means they have not been scientifically tested for what they're being prescribed for. It's not all that uncommon.
