The Old Folks Home

The thing about the cemetery that we used to live next door to is that it was pretty much an 'antique' grave yard. We would walk and look at the tomb stones. Some deaths dated back to the early 1800s. Lots of kids, Civil War.No one had been buried there since 1948. We might have seen one car there a year strolling and looking and the local VFW would do a salute every Memorial Day and that was it. Kinda sad. SGC would have a field day fixing all the damaged and broken markers. The cemetery was well cared for otherwise, mowed and weeded regularly.

I just came in. Got the garden cultivated, bush beans, pole beans and corn planted. Beets and peas reseeded. Baked bread. Now it's dinner time.....
It does sound like an SCG project cemetery!

I am about to start dinner. It is a bit early though at 4:30. Tonight is chicken and rice in the instantpot so it will not take long to cook

I have a video somewhere on the trap, just takes a flat rock some string and sticks. Easy to make and set. I actually love chipmunks. But when they start to dig up and eat every seed you plant it becomes WAR!
I had to look the trap up. This video seems quite good at describing
I was actually looking for one of my videos, tried and tried to just gif it, couldn't, shortened, compressed, shortened some more no go BYC keeps saying file too large. Never wanted to do a YouTube vid but anyway here it is, small version of that trap, have a few set, have to reset them all the time. Would work for mice and rats also. Pretty funny have a vid somewhere on my trail cam of the same set whacking a skunk in the head lol, didn't hurt it.Use a piece of dog food for bait.

I don't recommend rice for a keyboard, because the grains can get lodged under the keys.
I somehow dunked one of my cell phones in a cup of coffee, rice didn't help. Full of vids and pics of my kids, can't load them cause screen not working, can't unlock it.
Phone turns on but screen doesn't work.
Still have it not sure what to do, hoping somehow I can get it unlocked and download all the vids and pics. :hit

Beer can -- Does the ashes work for snails, too? We have no slugs, but plenty of their shelled cousins.
Yes! 👍
We have them also, slugs worst. No joke you can plant a 50 foot row of beans and once they sprout, all tops eliminated by slugs overnight. The wood ashes they do not like them even when wet, like acid to them but a base caustic. I put a good layer all around my row and re-do it every time it rains. Had to dust my collard greens and kale with wood ashes last yr cause of the shelled snails, helped.
Edit, once the second leaves of the beans are up, slugs/snails leave them alone, all good 👍
