Score on the fertile eggs! I have one left from my last hatch several years ago and she is still laying 5 eggs a week currently! My car went in for its annual recommended servicing. Now that I'm not driving to Santa Fe anymore (the place sold!), my mileage will look like the proverbial little old lady that only drove to church on Sunday.
However... The dealership is a hop-skippy-jump to Trader Joe's. Haven't been there since late February. SPREE!!!! Seriously, my cart was full to the brim at checkout. Would've spent more, but didn't tarry at the liquor department and the cart was full. Was surprised to find in the egg section fertile ones packed on Day 157 (today is Julian calendar 162) since all the other times I've checked the eggs have been at least 12+ days old. So, naturally, picked up a dozen and plopped them in the incubator with 5 of my girls' contributions for today. We'll see...
(Loved my last hen from store bought eggs, TeJae.)
Do make your own!I really don't want to waste the spices if I don't have to. I'd rather use them and make my own.
As for crispness...not much.
Tonight I opened a quart of spaghetti sauce that came with the quart of unseasoned brine pickles. Has anybody ever heard of putting what I believe are hot peppers in spaghetti sauce? I swear it burned my mouth for 10 minutes. I was glad I tasted before I dumped it in with my meat. I'm saving it for pizza sauce...granted it's going to be pizzas with one heck of a kick but I hate waste.
