The Old Folks Home

That is totally unacceptable, @chickadoodles. You did the right thing.

I love my rheumatologist but getting in to see him takes 3 months. If it's urgent, you see his PAs if and when they can work you in. So far I haven't been over impressed by the PAs. Asked DH what I should do and he agreed with me. My DO has done more for me. I had to ask the Pain Clinic PA to do the MRI on my neck and shoulders. They wanted to do RF ablation on me without one being done. If I could get in to see the Dr. without waiting 3 months, I'd do it but sometimes that's a long long wait if you are in pain. Plus he only is in the area offices one day a week which is why it takes so long to get to see him.

When all is said and done, you have to do what is right for you and I think you are doing that. Hang on. I know it's rough now but it will get better. :hugs

Super random post here so feel free to ignore it 😂🤣🙈 but just had to say this hah

:barnie :barnie :barnie

Dang it!!!

I heard a song on the radio tonight and decided I want to learn how to play it since it sounds easy enough and I love the song. Have heard it many times and always loved it so I’m not sure what exactly about this specific time made me decide this.

But anyway, so I decided I better practice just singing it first and practiced it a few times and I thought I sounded pretty good/did really well this time but then when I played it back, it’s horrible. :(

It’s not even just the singing, a couple (very few 😂🤣) parts are decent, but I just like keep stopping I guess? Like I’ve got no rhythm or timing or whatever I guess. They pause in the song too but they make it sound so easy/effortless. When I do it, it’s long awkward pauses.

So now I’m like, no way in heck I will ever be able to do this. :(

Cause when I’ve tried to play before, I’m super slow and awkward with that too. 😭😭

Granted, I’m not giving up just yet. I really really really want to be able to say I can play it. But it’s just super discouraging I guess when I was so excited and thought it’d be easier and realize just how far I am from ever actually being able to do it. :(

I called the cardiologist office today to see why I have not received the event monitor.
The receptionist sent a message to the nurse. So the nurse called me to let me know the order never went through for the monitor.
So I called my GP and asked them to help me find another one. They faxed my records to one that is a lot closer to me. And she said they should contact me with an appointment.

I told her that this Dr was only in his office 1 hour a day and only 2 days a week.
And that I need to see someone that is more readily available. I am afraid I will have a stroke before they get me the monitor at this rate. The nurse told me it would have to be sent out by the company and could take 8 more days to get it.
So sorry :(

Thanks, @chickadoodles, it's a bit of a stretch, that is for sure.

The big problem is that the only other Rheumy in this part of the state is in Columbia at the medical school there. People like him but it's an hour and a half drive one way.

I'm probably going to stick to my DO for the time being. The only thing my rheumy was ordering for me was Voltaren gel and I can get that otc now or I'm sure my family doc would order it for me.

@KDOGG331, have you ever considered learning to play the Uke? We have two and love them. So much easier to play than a guitar. We have 4 or 5 guitars but my fingers are so bad that I can't finger the fret board anymore. A ukulele is smaller and only has 4 strings. You might want to check into one and watch some youtube videos.

That is an excellent idea @microchick !! Thank you!!! I will try that!! Last time I tried guitar (several years ago) I had problems with my wrists holding it or whatever and that was a while ago so probably worse now. Think I have carpal tunnel ha plus even though I have long fingers, it is hard to reach some of those chords! Uke sounds easier.

It takes a lot of practice!

Also, btw, I don’t play anything atm but I’ve been wanting to learn guitar for a while. 😂🤣🙈

I’ve tried a few times before and with the keyboard too but never really seriously or anything.

But I really want to learn this song now.

I actually think keyboard/piano/that way would probably be easier for me, I picked that up pretty fast last time I tried, but I really want to, and would rather, learn guitar than piano. So

But the ukulele is such a cool instrument that I’d be happy with that instead of guitar too haha

I actually used to write songs occasionally too but that was a while ago. Although I still occasionally come up with ideas. Never usually get more than a couple lines though anymore 😂🤣
