The Old Folks Home

KDOGG331 -- Practice makes perfect. Heck, even Picasso had a church basement full of attempted paintings before churning out his masterpieces. (Said paintings the church sold to support itself. My in-laws had one and for a few dollars more over purchase price the seller would go next door and have Pablo sign it. True story!)

Chickadoodles -- That is so wrong. And in the age of uber-expensive medical care we've got, it could at least be competent medical care. I hope the situation is resolved quickly for you.

It seems a trend these days that dissatisfied/disenfranchised folks take a 180 in careers. I know several Wall Street types that ditched the suits, enrolled in Cordon Bleu, and are now happily keeping the same hours but making pastry and baked goods. Another techie type left his Apple job and now carves Tiki poles. DH took a sabbatical from counseling to drive a warehouse forklift. These folks all had job burnout after a 3 to 5 year stint and rather than bounce yet again to another employer, decided to pursue what made them happy. (I think they had bankrolled a bit, too, in case things didn't work out.) I ditched court reporting and ventured into home renovation for a bit. Why? Nobody ever says "Thank you. What a great transcript!" But flipping a house, well, you know the buyer is happy with your end result or they wouldn't invest in it. The renovation is HARD work, though. I'm old. Did a few and done. My knees may never forgive all the ladder work. Oh, well. On to quieter pursuits and more naps.
Thank you! That makes me feel better haha I know I have to just keep practicing but now I have a lot less interest this morning after realizing I suck :lau

But I’m gonna keep at it I think. Idk. 😂🤣

And I love that everyone’s following their dreams. :love

That’s part of why I want to get certified as a dog trainer and why I do pet sitting/walking now because I don’t want to be stuck in an office or something haha

But that said, I’m also starting to question whether the dog thing is for me too 😂🤣🙈

The funny thing is I’ve heard it several times before and always loved it so I’m not really sure what exactly it was about this specific time that made me want to play it :lau  maybe because it sounded easy enough to learn? Idk

It’s a little bit embarrassing but this is the song haha

don't be embarrassed - it's very catchy! thanks for posting :thumbsup

Well, the flipside: Turning one's passion into a business can take all the fun out of it.

But do it for you, Kdogg331. It doesn't matter if you suck if YOU get satisfaction out of it. Remember who's driving your train. ;)
Yeah that’s true! And I think that was part of my problem. I think I got a bit burnt out or whatever I guess and it was kinda stressful 😂🤣 but then now with the Covid stuff and having off so long I couldn’t wait to get back and see “my” dogs! 😂🤣

I started again a little bit last month with my brother’s dogs and am finally just not starting to slowly get back to doing other people’s but before that it was like 2-3 months. I stopped like mid March.

I don’t have huge operation or anything yet, just a few family and friends so far, but still.

But the other thing is I have a bit of an anxious personality and am not exactly calm in stressful situations 😂🤣 so I’m like well that does not exactly translate well to dog training because dogs feed off of that and get worse so then I’m like well I just shouldn’t train 😂🤣🙈🙈

But I know that’s stupid because I love it and that’s what thing I actually think I’m pretty good it. I don’t like saying that or whatever, sounds weird, but other people have even told me aha

So I do think I want to do it.

But now with the singing and music thing I’m not really sure. I was super excited last night but then I think I listen to what other people say/think too much cause now I’m totally crushed and not into it anymore 😂🤣🙈🙈

I know I’m not gonna get better either so
