The Old Folks Home

Just finally did up a quart and a half jar of pickled purslane. Was noticing a lot of dirt, kept rinsing it of my hands and thinking dang I cut each piece with scissors shouldn't be any dirt..
😆 it's seeds, lotsa seeds I washed down the drain. If I can find out how to harvest the seeds right anyone wants some? My garden grows tons of purslane. And quick weed/galliant soldiers, but pretty sure you don't want them, maybe you do but I don't recommend it I don't think there is any way to get rid of them once you have them. Chickens love them but most irritating weed ever.

Mother Earth News was reading it in print before computers :celebrate
Purslane may be a common plant, but it is uncommonly good for you. It tops the list of plants high in vitamin E and an essential omega-3 fatty acid called alpha-linolenic acid (ALA). Purslane provides six times more vitamin E than spinach and seven times more beta carotene than carrots. It’s also rich in vitamin C, magnesium, riboflavin, potassium and phosphorus.

WOW!!! I had no idea it was so good for you!!

I just weeded the garden today and I’m pretty sure I pulled a bunch of this stuff

Whoops 😂🤣🙈

I downloaded, and began playing my free game, Death Stranding. A minute into the opening scenes, and there is Norman Reedus (Walking Dead). He's the primary character. There's also an appearance by Lindsay Wagner. The graphics are awesome. It's like watching a movie, but being able to move, and interact with the character. It's soooo lifelike.

From the time I watched the intro scenes, I decided I had to learn to play this game. I had no idea how, or what I was doing. Every once in awhile, something would pop up, telling me to press something, or do something. I did. There was a response. At that point, I was not sure how that response would help, or what to do with it, but I kept fumbling forward. I learned a little on the controls, and what they did. THEN the game crashed. Hmmmm. Not a big deal, since I wanted to re-start it, now that I had learned a little more. About 30 minutes in, it crashed again. This has been going on for a couple days. The auto save would let me resume from where it crashed, but it was getting really frustrating.

One of the message boards said to turn off DSLL, and the game would stop crashing. Do I have that? Where is it? How do I turn it off? Finally, on one of the message boards, someone posted that it took them over an hour to find it, and turn it off for this game, BUT they posted all the directions, in hopes it would help someone else. It helped me. It's Ray-Tracing. A new thing with the new games. Anyway, I have it, and it interferes with this particular game. Once I turned it off, no more crashing.

Yes, you CAN teach an old dog new tricks.

I weeded and threw it away for yrs, before I knew what it was. Now I plant my garden, and when I weed, I weed around it leave it alone. It doesn't cause any probs in the garden cause it's such a low growing plant with very shallow roots. Taste's great cooked like spinach with a little lemon juice. Raw it's good too about the same, very crunchy and never tough no matter how big or old it gets even the stalks when big are still crunchy and tender.
I don't eat tons of it but could my garden is loaded with it now that I avoid tossing it.
Maybe several cooked side dishes a yr and a few jars of pickled (great on sandwiches) and in Ramen noodle soup.
Supposed to be good for Pesto and Chimichurri though I haven't tried either yet.
I munch down a little bit of it raw when weeding my garden also 😆.
