I might have to try leaving it when it grows back! I’m sure it will soon haha I’ll have to get a picture of it though to make sure it’s the stuffI weeded and threw it away for yrs, before I knew what it was. Now I plant my garden, and when I weed, I weed around it leave it alone. It doesn't cause any probs in the garden cause it's such a low growing plant with very shallow roots. Taste's great cooked like spinach with a little lemon juice. Raw it's good too about the same, very crunchy and never tough no matter how big or old it gets even the stalks when big are still crunchy and tender.
I don't eat tons of it but could my garden is loaded with it now that I avoid tossing it.
Maybe several cooked side dishes a yr and a few jars of pickled (great on sandwiches) and in Ramen noodle soup.
Supposed to be good for Pesto and Chimichurri though I haven't tried either yet.
I munch down a little bit of it raw when weeding my garden also.
Thanks for the info PennyPurslane may be a common plant, but it is uncommonly good for you.

Anybody else see the news articles on the mystery Chinese seeds ending up in American mail boxes?
The seeds are light in weight so inexpensive to ship. Then they fake a rating from the recipient's account so do not care what the person thinks...if that is what is going onI've seen several articles about that. One thing I noticed is that the seeds in the pictures are all different. One looked familiar, but I couldn't quite place it; others have been peppers, citrus, even what looked like zinnia seeds. If they are coming from China, it's illegal to ship even safe plant material across borders without it being inspected, so, even if the seeds are harmless, the shipper is breaking international law. If, as is suspected, someone is just trying to boost their rating as a shipper, they picked the wrong material with which to do it.
So one of the weeds I've been swearing at and pulling out for years is purslane huh? Just pulled out a bunch more today. That stuff doesn't give up!If I can find out how to harvest the seeds right anyone wants some?
I feed it to the chickens-- makes very nice eggs!So one of the weeds I've been swearing at and pulling out for years is purslane huh? Just pulled out a bunch more today. That stuff doesn't give up!
