The Old Folks Home

DH made the grocery pick up for us today. Amazing how the cost of a month's worth of groceries has doubled in 10 years. Makes me wonder how much higher they will be in 2030. I shudder to imagine.
I noticed the price of a week's worth of groceries goes up the rare times DW goes shopping, then goes back down when I do it ;)

And "yep" on the cost of things going up, pretty hard to figure out if you'll have enough money to live to the end in reasonable comfort.

Every night, before the grands go to bed, they come to tell me goodnight. The ritual usually includes me telling them I love them, and them responding in kind.

The other night, I asked the kids if they were sure I really loved them. Yes, they were sure. "Why are you sure I love you"? One said, "because I'm their grandma, so I have to love them". "Nope, being your grandmother does not mean I have to love you". "So how do you know I love you"? Another one said they knew I loved them, "because I told them so all the time". "What if I'm lying"? "How do you KNOW I love you"?

The next night, I asked them the same questions. "Are you really sure I love you"? Again, all three said yes. I then asked, "how do you know I love you"? The middle grand replied, "because it's in your heart, and it shows". Good answer. The youngest responded, "I just know you love me". "I just know you do". That's when my grandson chimed in. He said, "I know you love me, because I'm so totally awesome, you just have to love me".

Have a great day!
