Happy New Years @lovesfarms!
I have more of a hate hate relationship with winter. I don't mind the snow but the bitter cold and ice get real old really fast. Plus my chickens are little snowflakes who won't go out in the snow. I have seen the ones where this is their first winter go flying out of the pop door. Suddenly see the snow, let out a scream of alarm and circle mid air to land back on the ramp or the opening. They look at the snow but it may as well be a run full of predators to them. No way they are going out.
Me, I don't mind the snow. It's much preferable to maneuver in than the ice is. Took a fall three years ago and cracked a rib when I slipped on black ice near the coop and it's made me leary of walking on ice. Much much rather walk through snow.
As for the cold, I seldom complain about the summer heat, but the winter cold makes me grumpy.
