The Old Folks Home

AND the ONLY remaining covered bridge in all of the Northeast Kingdom (the three northeasternmost counties, Orleans, Essex and Caledonia)!

Probably not, it would be pretty expensive.

Super cute!!! They better watch that kid when he gets his license, did you see him peel out after putting the pup in the back?

Something not right about it being colder in MO than northern VT!

Me too, can you imagine the poor people in high rises? Can't go anywhere! Makes me appreciate all the more that I can stay home and be outside anytime I want (which isn't a lot right now, it has warmed up to 13°F though so not as bad as the -4F this morning. I let the animals wait until it was +5F. They don't need anything early and the chickens won't come out in the snow anyway.

Nah, Mama Heating Pad brooder in a corner of the floor coop. You could get lucky and have a hen that goes broody with some frequency want to raise the chicks eve if she doesn't want to be a "go to" mother. Anais is ours, she is 8.5 years old now and has helped raise all 4 batches that came after hers.

No power in the coop I guess. I have a heated dog water dish in the barn alley, works great. The alpacas have a heated bucket.

I was going to mention the FL humidity then I remembered that MO has wicked humidity in the summer as well. My step-father said that MO was a good place to be FROM. My maternal grandfather said the same thing about Chicago. Given he left there well before 1910 I can't even imagine what he would think of it now.

Oh my Cap, that is awful!! Are the windshields at least intact so rain can't get in?
Both windshields broken, but not leaking.

Truck in the top photo, car in the bottom.

Well, Cap, looks like the insurance company is buying your truck! (Take the sign off the truck, take photos, submit)
Hopefully you have no more inconveniences with the weather.

Chickens are now ensconced in the garage in their agreeable groups and the roo is solo in his bachelor pad. They seem to have settled in nicely. That or they're too confused by the sudden change of scenery to fuss up.

Will the insurance remove the tree?
I was closer I'd do it for you.

That is if I get to keep the firewood... I'm kidding I would do it anyway .
It is good to see you here!

That would be awesome if you could help. BYC members are the best!
