The Old Folks Home

I can't imagine a bathroom without a vent. :idunno

Yeah, like I said, the guy who built it was short on the practical stuff. And decency too, from some of the stories I heard from a couple people.

Hubby tried to clean the mildew off with bleach. Didn't do a thing. That's why I think I'll need to sand it off. Then I'll slather on the poly.

We plan to redo the tub/shower this coming summer, so I won't do anything before we get that done. Another thing the builder did was leave NO access to the shower plumbing, unless you count ripping out the paneling by the sink. Another face smacker.

The main bathroom here needs to be redone.

Bathroom is huge not connected to the master either.
2 seperate vanities both built out of cedar and one antique cast iron tub .. of course the toilet but huge room..
I want to out a large open shower then a stand alone tub ..
there is room for all of it.

80,000 for two new cars....ummm....won't drive a car that is worth more than some houses...with land....at least here in Missouri anyway.

Can't say I blame you @CapricornFarm.

@bruceha2000 I have been lucky to get two years out of the Orscheln 1.5 gallon heated water bowl for dogs. Time to go to plan B and make our own.

I get either a coffee cup warmer, or wax melter and put it in a metal tin. Then place the waterer on top.

CS, you can do a boot for the toes, and a hobble for the legs. Don't wait too long. It works best when they're less than a week old.
Well, the toes are getting straighter by the day with B vitamins, the problem is that it look like his hocks are locked. If he could stand up straighter then hobbles might work. He does manage to get around. If he has the will to keep fighting, I'm letting him work it out. He's eating and hollars for drinks from the eyedropper.. lotta poop so he has to be eating.

I want to hear about that. :pop

What are the benefits to alfalfa? I have a bit in the garden (or will when it's summer again), and have given the chickens clippings of it. They ate it, but they DEVOUR the weed plantain. I come in the run with that, and they are right there!
Ok, so I didn't have enough coffee cans to do separate tubs of water and tea.. some I just added half tea and half water to their tubs.. They are drinking it up like soda pop. Makes me feel better knowing there's something nutritious in the water. The ones that got two containers are drinking it equally. I wonder if chickens have a sense of smell and taste?

I can't believe you could have too many!
I'm taking the BO pair to the local auction next month, and my EE cockerel.. He's getting snotty.. I stood in the pen with the EE's and told him in no uncertain terms to knock if off, stomping my feet and flapping my wings.. He turned and went in the other direction. Wasn't having none of that. I'm sure he heard me too, cause the neighbors a mile away could. I really want to put my Beilefelder pair in with the two EE pullets (one is laying the other hasn't so far) I'll put lil Mr butthole in the round pen by himself.. See how he likes that! And Prince decided my pant leg was something to snatch at and jerk around. He's getting to be a 'big boy' now and I can't wait for the end of the week when the weather gets back to normal.. He's going out!

Their sense of taste is from what I have read, lacking. I think they can taste 'something' though as mine definitely have favorite things they like to eat as treats.

I've got some pet grade alfalfa coming to try on my birds....right now we have about 6 shipments from Amazon and Walmart.com being held captive by Fed Ex and UPS waiting for our road to get cleared before the attempt delivery.

Maybe this June the way things are going.

I really think they get just as much nutritional value out of tea as they do eating rehydrated alfalfa. Only ones I have that aren't cleaning it up are the Black hens I bought last summer.. But for the first time, they went after some 'spring mix' that I tossed around.. It has various types of lettuce and arugala in it.

Edit: Maybe we could call alfalfa tea GREEN BULL FOR CHICKENS?
