The Old Folks Home

no exhaust fan,
Depending on the configuration of the house that could be an easy fix.

Lots of models of Car hart's. Some have double knee and way thicker fabric.

We buy the sturdiest version, with double knees for kid 3.
I got what they had at TSC. I'll have to look at the Carhartt site to see what else is available.

Another thing the builder did was leave NO access to the shower plumbing
That isn't at all uncommon. Generally speaking one doesn't often need to access the backside of the valve body. Of course it WOULD be nice if the plumbers would put in accessible shutoffs for shower bodies so you can change the valve without shutting off the entire house.

I get either a coffee cup warmer, or wax melter and put it in a metal tin. Then place the waterer on top.
I don't know if that would work in sub 0°F temps. Plus the commercial ones have thermostats though I guess you could plug yours into a ThermoCube.

Didn't think of that Bruce. Right now I have these little ice burgs outside the coop door from me struggling to pound out the solid blocks of ice in my ice cream containers that are doubling as water holders.

@CSolis I'm hoping mine will like the alfalfa. Anything is better than them eating the straw I put in the nesting boxes.

if you go to their website they sometimes have good sales. Our local Agway store has a bag sale before Christmas--pay $5 for a shopping bag, and any Carhartt you put in the bag is 30% off--I can roll that stuff really tight to fill my bag!

No Agway here anymore. With no forewarning one day it just closed. :idunno They were a great store and did a great business.

Then my dad and stepdad were thinking ahead of the game. :thumbsup When we redid the bathroom in our old house, that's one of the things hubby did too. He'll do that when we redo this one. We've had a drip in the shower for a long time and no way to replace that valve without major ripping out of part of a wall.

When I had a plumber in to do something else and I said we had a drip, he said, "Oh, that's an easy fix." When I showed him what had to be taken out, he said, "... or not." :gig

good morning, oldies but goodies! put your teeth in and get going!
Good Morning.. my teeth are in and waiting on the wild berry muffins to cool off enough to have one, or two or.....
Lil peepster passed away while I slept last night. All good.. At least I didn't have to do it.. All on the Lord's timeline. He was a loved baby for sure.
