Based on everyone's experience here, when is the best time to move chickens around? I need to move Bruce and the two EE's out of the big pen into the hoop coop, and put the two ladies in the hoop coop in the big pen with the remaining 3 ladies. Those 5 are all very docile and should get along great. Bruce doesn't much like the 3 black hens, and they don't seem to like him either.

Actually they recommend bacitracin ointment over TAO. One of the antibiotics in the TAO can cause fungal infections in some individuals.

I was floored to hear that many apply plain old petroleum jelly to sutured wounds and only advice an antibiotic ointment if there is sign of redness or infection.

We used to use colloidal silver infused dressings on wounds when I worked in clinical nursing. Swear by the stuff. They also used to use a sea weed derivative. Tegaderm/Duoderm adhesive dressings for decubiti were SOP. Not long before I quit my job at the rehab facility they had an inservice speaker who lectured on the new wave of wound care. I was always fascinated and interested in wound healing and was considering getting certified as a wound specialist for a while. Something very satisfying about watching a horrible wound heal and when you checked it off as not needing any further treatment, knowing that it was what you did to help that healed that patient.

There was an old couple I bought a place from up in Prattvile years ago. She was diabetic and had wounds on her legs. The only thing she ever used was raw honey. Go figure.

Raw honey is an anti bacterial in nature.

Well tell ya so much heat coming off it knew there was infections starting the middle did not scab even.
used the silver yesterday 3 times like 15 minutes each.
today small even scab all over middle also no redness

Well, got Prolia on board this morning. Oh. Joy. Anxious to see if I get the same side effects this time as I did last time. I hit every body system the last time from head to toes. Decided this time I'm not going to fight it, just roll with it.

After talking to them today I've decided to hold on getting the vaccine. At least into the foreseeable future. Too many potential problems for me to risk it, at least now. The nurse who gave me my shot today had worked the local Covid Unit in the hospital and was able to give me some unique first person experiences to think about. I will say that I feel a lot better having talked to somebody who knows the score and can answer a few of the questions that I had. I feel even better having made a decision.

Everyone has to do what is right for them personally. There is no one size fits all for this. If I was working in a hospital, doctor's office or extended care facility, I'd be first in line. But I'm not and what we are doing is working for us at least at the time being so we are going to keep on keeping on and see what happens next. It just isn't worth the potential risk for us.
