The Old Folks Home

That is what you are supposed to use for leg mites!

I have not had them here though
I've not had any paracites here either... But little Mr KE came from another place in in Red Level. He and Sara are the only ones in their pen, so it shouldn't spread if that's the case. And I knew about the petroleum jelly from other threads or websites I've read.. the Bag Balm is the only topical I have with it in there, and that's why I used it. Besides, the antibiotic properties it has should help the swelling go down as well.

I never mastered the power nap. When I nap, I'm OUT for a couple hours. If I don't fall asleep, I sometimes doze, or just get up.

I'm trying some "loaded decaf," which is decaf with milk and a good dollop of honey.
My older brother is an expert at power naps. I never got the hang of it, but I can always set the alarm on my phone for 30 minutes and go from there.

WOW. 😲 I just got back in from my afternoon check and refills for the kids. Took a good look at Mr KE's legs and I'm totally amazed.. there's at least a 60% improvement already to the white patchy scaley legs I saw earlier this morning. That Bag Balm is a miracle worker. Of course I will continue to monitor the progress, but seems I did the right thing as he now has more pink than white showing.

I've heard of 4th toes before, but I count 5 toes on my lil booger. 3 in front, 2 in back, plus spurs about as long as his legs... Next job is trimming the spurs. Not the best of photos, but at least you can see what I'm talking about. This morning, both legs were white.

Dorking based breeds have 5 toes! Dorkings are one of the breeds in a lot of other breeds.

We have some internet. It's a bit sporadic, but it goes on for awhile, then off awhile, then on awhile.

CS, keep it up a few days with the bag balm. It will clear everything right up, but it does take a few applications. You might want to spray your roosts, to kill the mites.
I was thinking of dusting them with Sevin dust.. will that work?
