The Old Folks Home

Well, finally got my results back from the dexa scan.. according to the WHO, I'm falling apart and need immediate treatment if not sooner. My NP is suggesting Prolia. I saw what happened to dad and his mother on Fosamax. Grandma was bent over and looked pretty much like a pretzel, and dad had to have both hips replaced, which made his back that much worse. I think I'll just keep going. Thinning of bones is a natural occurrence with age. What makes it worse is flouride.. fluoride here, fluoride there. They don't stick it in our drinking water, and I don't use fluoridated toothpaste so I'm not bathing in it or drinking it.. but what other chemicals show up in the water they don't tell you about?

Took the 4 weekers out to the turn-out pen that was free... Golly, they thought they were popcorn.. hopping up in the air, running and taking flight lessons. Then they ran all over me, since I was sitting on the ground in the pen. I just love it when a plan comes together.
Have they checked you parathyroid glands?

Sorry if I asked before.

Dorkings are in a lot of breeds so five toes can pop up in many breeds or mixed breeds.

Base Breeds like dorkings work like that. Do you love your Dorkings?
I'd be a dork not to love them!
Oh, and I found an egg underneath the nesting box.. was a bit cool, but not stone cold. So I brought it in and stuck it in the bator to warm up, then candled.. IT'S ALIVE!! Looks to be about 10 days or more in process, but has a fairly large air sac on the big end.. gonna have to keep an eye on it, and stick it in a second brooder when it goes into lock down, since the eggs in the bator are only on day 7.

I spent several years hatching dorkings for a local breeder. They are so sweet!

I was able to keep a rooster for a while. He is in my avatar.

I did have a couple of hens but they are gone now.

Nope.. not at all. If I can ever get in to see a 'real' endocrinologist, I might get results. Still playing cat and mouse on the Dec referral and the Community Care Ins peeps.. Speaking of which.. Did get my eyes examined. Had it been at a VA facility I would have been 'issued' a pair of glasses too. Now I have to call the optometrist office at the VA and see how I go about getting some new glasses, before duct tape has to be used.

hyper parthryoid tumors is still one of the most mis diagnosed or ignored condition for women in the US.

It is called bones, moans and stones for what it does to a person.

If you have the blood calcium level, you can often tell. Parathroid hormone combined with blood calcium level is key to figuring out if you have it.

you can download an app called calcium pro to determine and track the condition.

DH just radioed me from Columbia. He is coming home. Sid is staying. They did more xrays and now see two foreign bodies. One in her intestines one in her stomach. Not sure what they are seeing but now pretty sure they can't get to the problem items with an endoscope. SHOOT! and I don't mean SHOOT so you can breathe a deep sigh of relief, Ron, you don't have to slap my wrists for me.

We are waiting for results of a sonogram before they decide what to do.

I hope she is better soon!

Hopefully there will be no more foreign objects swallowed by the Dogs.

They are Cattle Dogs. Of course there will be! Or broken bones, or ghastly wounds. Us or them?

But thanks. I told my husband that this is what we have been saving up all that money for. No kids to leave it to. May as well give it to the dogs.
