Okay @penny1960. Rub it in, LOL. I think it was up to 86 here today for the high. But HUMID!

My oops for the day. Accidentally left my clothespin bag out on my clothesline three days ago. It got rained on, waited for it to dry. Went out today to hang up some blankets I washed, reached in and encountered a birds nest. I knew there was a jenny wren hanging around but didn't know where they were nesting, Looked in, yep, full of sticks and twigs. Couldn't even find the clothespins at the bottom so I dumped the bag in the grass. OOPS. Egg in it, now broken. No incubation showing in it yet but small consolation.

Needless to say, the clothespin bag came inside.

Up to 26 Carpenter bees. I think I'm getting the jump on them.

Two more rat snakes became vulture food today. Stoopid things go straight up the fencing (even chain link fence) then get themselves embroiled in the deer netting,,There they stay until I get out there and put a .22 in their little skulls. Cut them out of the deer netting and take the up to the road for the vultures and hoot owls to find. Sorry @CapricornFarm I'm not in the mood to relocate.

Well you gotta do what you feel is right. We get a couple each year in the bird netting over our strawberries.

Working on a cage repurpose, used this one for broodies, but right now I need more brooder space. Today I put a door on one end, before I just opened the top. The outside got a new coat of paint. It needs longer legs so I don't have to bend so much.

Knock on wood, I haven't seen any snakes.....yet. Oh I know I'm not fooling myself. They are all over. We have rat snakes, black snakes, timber rattlers, cotton mouths, copper heads and garter snakes. Just to name a few. Usually we just see the garters and cast off skins in the field when the bigger snakes molt. There are water snakes in the ponds but so far, the only time I've seen a snake near the birds is when one of my young buff Orpingtons feasted on a little garter snake that had the bad judgement to go in their run.

We just came in. DH was using the Mahindra to shove dirt into the lagoon. Surprising how good of a job it does. Gotta commend my husband's determination and courage. Makes me sweat and chew nails just watching him at work.

86 yesterday 54 this morn, going to be 39 Friday night.
That thunderstorm was pretty intense. Was at DD#2 FFA awards ceremony couldn't hardly even hear the loudspeaker it was coming down so hard.
I was hoping it would start out slow but it still didn't damage garden.

Good Morning OF.. Cool and froggy here this morning. Need to reload the clip for my .22 and go hunting for snakes. I noticed when I was mowing around the culvert a few week ago some hatched snake eggs. But the ones I'm getting now are 3-4'
