The Old Folks Home

Hey Becky, how are you doing today?
I woke up with a very sore right shoulder this morning but I was shoving fencing around last night so DH could push more dirt into the lagoon before the weather went south.

Actually, as long as I sit on the sofa and watch TV I don't feel too bad. But that goes against my religion, LOL. So the more I do, the more joint pain I have. Then there is my neck and shoulders but I'm trying to ignore them.

I said that I feel like I'm just adapting to what is wrong with me and learning what I can do and how much I can do it before I pay the price for my folly. This morning I told my husband that I never thought I would see the day where I was excited about seeing a new doctor but I am! I'm hoping she can do something to actually help me instead of just pumping me full of prednisone and Toradol to mask the symptoms and sending me on my way.

Sorry to hear that your knee is still vexing you. Did they ever find out why you are leaking fluid? Do you have something like lymphedema?

I had back pain on the right side last night. It is gone now though.

My left knee is starting to have issues again too. It has been over 6 months since the cortisone shot so it is time for knee pain again.

Face it guys, we are walking ship wrecks! Remember being young and older people telling you...don't do that, you will pay for it later? Well hell, who would have ever thought they were telling the truth?

@CapricornFarm, when I saw the doctor two weeks ago he gave me a shot of Decadron mixed with something else. Still feeling the results although my neck is bothering me along with my right foot but everything else is just mildly annoying. Last night I told DH that the steroids were really messing with my appetite. He told me yeah, Decadron was a long lasting steroid when injected.

I fear I discovered what is wrong with my right foot. I suspect I have a bone spur on the navicular bone. It would figure right given my problems with RA and Osteo. Probably should tell them to sharpen the needles and order new waiting room furniture when I see the doctor. Either that or get the upgrade on the new Beemer.

Just came in from playing with the ACDs everyone was in a good mood. Lots of doggy smiles which is one of the things I love about the breed. They smile from ear to ear when they are happy. DH observed that maybe they are finally getting used to the new normal. He's probably right.

No, I have not looked into it further since there's not a huge volume. And I really don't want surgery. I have discovered that I can't bend down on my knees like I used to. So trying to avoid that. I probably damaged my knee crawling into and out of the back of my truck to load and unload chickens and swapping equipment. Metal is harder than my knees and I am too heavy.

The doctor thinks that my knee pain is generated from my foot problems. I don't have a lot of swelling in my knees, just pain. Plus my knee joint on my left leg is loose. I did so much horse back riding, cycling, running that who knows.

For me, it's climbing stairs and ladders. I can get down on my knees but getting up is the trick. Not because of my knees but back to my feet again.

Surgery doesn't hold much appeal for me either.

Got a fire going in the wood stove because it is going to get very chilly tonight. We have a possible storm blowing in; the chickens went to bed early. Maybe they know something?
accuweather sent a high heat warning for the weekend here.

weather can be so different in other parts of the Country!
