You are probably remembering correctly. Sounds as though she had a subclavian IV catheter inserted for her IV antibiotic treatment. Dealt with those a few times in my career.
I was luckier than most. I was sick for about 6 months before it dawned on me that the symptoms I was experiencing were connected with tick bites I had suffered the previous summer. The doctor I was going to at the time immediately ordered antibiotics and labs for me. My Elisa came back with one positive bar but it was the important one that showed I had been exposed to Lyme disease. With the symptoms in place they considered me positive. I was on antibiotics for 6 months. And worked through treatment.
Recently DH and I were going through a tote from our office and we ran across the thick spiral binder I had kept from when I was sick. My short term memory was shot and I couldn't keep track of patients calling or orders my Doctor Honey gave me for patients so I started jotting down notes and prompts for myself. He was thumbing through the note book and it dawned on him what I had done to cope. He realized that I was writing down just one or two words with a name to stimulate my memory enough to recall what was going on. Otherwise it would be lost to me.
Sometimes I would just come home and soak for hours in a hot tub laced with epsom salt. It helps draw the toxins out of your body.
On a side note Hey
@CapricornFarm. How are antibiotics for Lyme disease prices out your way? I picked up a refill on my Minocycline today and they told me my insurance wanted to charge me 61$ for it. Their out of pocket charge was only 29 so I paid out of pocket. I was shocked to say the least.
Have I mentioned how much I HATE ticks but at least I can do something to combat this.
