The Old Folks Home

The check never did surface.
Give it time! That reservation request was lost for 33 years. We thought it was something when years ago DW got a birthday card from her aunt. TWO cards in a short amount of time? One was mailed prior to her previous birthday. Guess that one was stuck in the bottom of a bag too.

It's been well over ten years, Bruce, ya think maybe? I hope they don't try to cash it if it does, LOL.

I just had a surprise. Just when you think you've seen everything with chickens they throw something new at you.

I have a one year old EF hen who has a very swollen toe. I mean it is cartoon huge. Felt it. No breaks. No redness, no heat. No bumbles. Tonight I went out to give her a dose of antibiotics and the toe looked the same. I got her down and into the light. Nope, no Bumble. the toe is just huge but then I noticed something under her toe nail. It looked like part of the toenail or dirt but when I scraped it with my fingernail it was loose. Got under it and pulled. It was a scab with a bit of a kernel attached to it. No sign of solid pus though but for good measure I gave it a squeeze and something shot out of the wound traveled about 6 inches along with some blood. I don't know what it was but I suspect it was a foreign body of some sort. I brought her in the house and checked it under brighter light and the wound under the toenail was very small but big enough to cause a lot of trouble.

So when is a bumble not a bumble...when it is under a toenail!

Also who remembers this one.

N E S T L E S Nestles makes the very best....Chocolate...
okay, what was the name of the dog in the commercial who snapped his mouth shut with a resounding pop at the end of chocolate?

It looks like I watched a lot of TV back in the 70s, but really, I didn't.

Remember back then there were THREE, count 'em, THREE channels?!?
You were lucky. We did have three, during the winter. One rest of the yr. Most here only had one channel. And cartoons were only on Saturday mornings lol.

Stores gone. DW telling our 17yr old DD on how Kmart used to be here, how popular it was what it used to carry, everything Walmart does, electronic section had everything yrs ago.
I actually bought my first direct tv dish at Kmart back in the '90s. Brought it home and set it up tied to a chair outside and got it to work lol!
