The Old Folks Home

Morning OF. Clear and warming this morning. Already 81.
Baby Jay was in and out all day yesterday having himself a ball.. Went out late before it started raining then wouldn't leave the tree he was in. Got dark and I knew he would stay put so went to bed. He came in around 8 am hungry as could be. Napping now as might be expected.
My little Turtle Dove decided it was time to come out of the tub she's been in. She's kinda clumsy but made it on her own. She still walking like a stroke victim take a few side steps like she's disoriented but holds her own. Don't know if she can be integrated with the flock or not, but it's still early.

Uh.....

Yes..... But it was such a sham.

I don't think any of our local trucks were there, and tiny town though we are.... I think we have 3!
I wonder if they paid the locals to say home?

It is a competition with teams and trucks that they bring in. The Season in Alaska went to quite a few cities and Towns.

I was looking for you!

I need to spray the outside walls, crevices, and a swath around the house for ants. With all the rain, they're moving to higher ground, which means they're moving close to the house. This happens every year during rainy season. I'll use pyrethrin, and I don't spray too wide of a swath. Just enough to keep the ants from coming in the house, and patio. I spray close around the AC unit too. That keeps the ants out of the points, so they don't prevent contact, and stop the AC from working. It too, is right next to the house.
We get ants in the house here in the winter--It only rains in the winter so they come in after rain storms. Last winter I bought optiguard ant bait gel. it works inside and outside of the house. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003K8JDPM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Between storms, I walked around the house looking for ant trails going up to the house and put some of the bait by the foundation at each line. I checked and added more bait as needed daily. They were gone within three days! I had three trails so the bait got rid of three ant nests.

They did not come back. They will likely be back next winter though. We are part of the Argentinian super ant colony that stretches to New Orleans.

She should get better. Birds can regrow brain cells. It might take some time though
