The Old Folks Home

Turtle Dove is driving me nuts (er). She's refusing to settle down for the night, insisting that getting up on my computer desk, then my shoulder, then my head is the best place to be. Meanwhile Baby Jay is flying all over, grabbing stuff and sticking it between the pillows on the papasan. Or if he's here eating mealworms, he thinks the place for small bits is between the keys on the keyboard. He'll keep knocking at them with his beak until they are in the crevices out of sight. Then last but not least he stole a berry right out of the bowl of cobbler I was eating and shoved it under a pillow. Maybe saving snacks for later.

So for tonight I have poop in my hair, scratches on my shoulder and one less berry in my stomach. Think I'll head off to bed. After a 6 month's wait I get to see the endocrinologist in Crestview some 60 miles from here. God Bless the VA.

Morning old folks.. News out here was how many sea creatures died in the heat wave of 3 days, their talking billion of them muscles, snails and such
96° day and poor robin babies are struggling. I almost wish I'd have an extra fan for them. It must be hard for the Mama to find worms for them- I saw her come back with some berries. Wish she had made her Nest in the trees

Micro SD card ordered from Amazon.

@getaclue good luck. Good morning, All.
BTW, Baby Jay chased me all over the place while I was mowing. Guess I'll forever be part of his world. That is unless and until he/she is old enough to find a mate. Things might change then.
Best friend and I had a pet crow when we were kids. For two years he would follow us wherever we went. Quite a sight - two kids on bikes with a crow dive bombing or flying between them. His second summer he found a mate and was only an occasional visitor. Third summer he disappeared.

Our power went off last night for a bit. It came back on, but only half the house. The power company came out and determined that it's on our side. So now I try to get an electrician out to fix it. I'm missing my fridge, freezer, stove and water heater. Sigh.

The vacant house on the hill was ablaze last night. Lots of wind and a lightning storm, and then welcomed rain (and a good one, too) came along and helped keep the damage to just the structure.
Bizarrely "lucky" strike by lightning on that house or did someone torch it?
VERY lucky nothing else caught.

Dh was funny. When he headed out to work, he grabbed his work gloves, and a chainsaw, and put them in the trunk of his car. Not rain, nor snow, nor fallen trees will keep him from his bed, when he's finally able to come home.
SMART MAN! And since he is prepared he won't need any of it. If he didn't prepare he'd be waiting for someone else to cut the trees dropped on the road. That is how life works ;)
