Do chickens like to snuggle?? Mine do. Especially if I don't spend much time with them, them all 6 will fight to squeeze on my lap. I wear a huge t shirt so they can all squeeze their heads up my sleeve! They will also shake their dust me!!

Awesome!
Good Morning OF. Already been to TSC and got feed, it's already in the house without wearing me out. Feed mixed for the week and I've had breakfast! Time to head out the door to feed, then come back in shower and head off to Crestview FL for my endo appt. Only took 9 months to get that. :lau

Morning all.

@CSolis you make me feel like a slug sitting here in robe, trying to wake up and discovering coffee isn't helping this morning.

5AM wake up call to thunderstorms in the area. Don't know if it's remnant's of Ida pushing through or another system but we needed the rain and cooler temps. Tired of giving money to the power company to run AC.

:caf
literally me this morning.

@lovesfarms, I have two that love to cuddle. One is a little BBR hen who, if I bend over, will fly up onto my back and then onto my shoulder to be picked up. She did this last night and when I came in DH casually asked me if I knew I had poopy chicken foot prints on my back. Nope but Little Peanut was on my back so not surprised. Time to change shirts, LOL. The other is a little SDW rooster named Joker who will dance around my feet, offer me tidbits until I pick him up and tell him I'm not a hen, I am spoken for but I appreciate his display of affection.

Poor little guy bonded with me when his mother died when he was just 3 weeks old and has never figured out the rooster/hen thing. I saw him try to mate a pile of feathers that was on the coop floor one night. Oh well, never claimed my birds were normal.

As to Freya. I guess that she has some Doberman Pinscher in her also. Don't see the bull dog but she has beautiful intense eyes of a Doby.

the response of the dog is to pull harder unless it is right behind the jaw area.
@CSolis, Do you have a picture of what you mean by this? I'm not "seeing" this in my head. Is this a specific collar? Thanks, I really appreciate everyone's comments.

Good luck with your appointment!

We've had two Dobes and loved them! I wouldn't mind her being part Dobe in the least. :)

I am ordering the DNA test kit today. :thumbsup I'll let you all know what I find out. Actually, I'll post it on every thread I frequent. You won't miss it.

I had two Dobes in my life, a black and fawn named Tori and a blue named Aramis, Ari for short. Marvelous dogs both of them, sweet and gentle but strangers couldn't turn their backs on them. So they were typical Dobermans.

@CSolis, I agree 100%. I look for the head to stay about at my knee, a little forward and an ear cocked back towards me so I know they are paying attention to what I'm doing and saying.

A trainer I once used told me to talk to them constantly while training. Give them feed back. Good boy, Good girl, pay attention, walk, turn, slow down, heel, heel, heel, all in a quiet level tone.

As for collars I highly recommend the pronged training collars with rubber tips on the ends of the prongs. Used them on all of our pig headed, stubborn Cattle dogs and they learned in record time. We still use them when they are out on walks with us on lead. Sure stops pulling and lunging fast.

Well. that was interesting to say the least! Dr H called the endocrinologist at the Pensacola VA clinic a quack. Any one that contradicts him is a quack! He wanted to take over the prescribing of my drugs including giving me Prolia. Said the VA won't often give it. Ummmmm, I'm calling Nurse Sellers tomorrow and tell her to canx the consult. Something wong with the guy. He's Big Pharma's poster boy!

Dr Shijun Pan's, my neurologist, office is less than 6 blocks from the endocrinology center and I had packed up fresh eggs to take to his office. I took them in the door, and as it happens he was behind the front desk doing some paperwork. Still had his blue gloves on so wouldn't take the eggs directly so I handed them to his wife and receptionist. I walk out and as I start getting in my car, Dr Pan came running out the door and straight up to me. He did the customary greeting that Chinese people do, putting one hand balled up in the other with a slight bow then proceeded to thank me profusely.

My what a world of difference when one doctor respects his patients and the other doesn't.
