The Old Folks Home

I guess that depends on people's definition of "climate change". If you think it's because people pollute too much, that's nonsense. Even the better scientists backed off of that one, after some major research. Do we pollute? Of course we do, however, people and animals are not always the biggest contributors of pollution. Can our bio-system actually handle it? For the most part, yes.

Since man discovered years ago, they could "seed the clouds" and manipulate the weather, there has been a major quest to do so. The current advances in weather manipulation are astounding. The problem is, it comes with a price, that's not just financial. Knowing the toll it takes on our planet to manipulate the weather, will they shut down the programs? Of course not. Why? In all instances, follow the money.

Morning everyone. Sitting here with a mug of coffee trying to wake up and waiting for it to rain.

@getaclue I agree 100% with you. BTW love your tag line. Ain't that the truth!

Concerning fossil fuels...I just don't understand the big picture I guess. Coal is produced naturally by mother earth and has been used as a fuel longer than I can remember. Is it clean? No but it's self renewing, it's available and the EPA regulates the daylights out of it. Back to my original statement about the USA having some of the most stringent pollution laws on earth.

Every looked into children in the Congo harvesting cobalt? It's an essential element for batteries and in high demand and over 40,000 kids work mining it. So every time you use your phone, you are supporting child labor. Think about it. Ready to give up that phone yet?

I don't think anybody can really point fingers at fossil fuels while forest fires pour smoke and pollutants into the air at a record pace. Breathing that in is really healthy for our lungs.....not.

Hi there, If you try and go through 12019 pages of posts, you'll never catch up. Welcome to the OF thread. How'sit over your way. Got power back yet, and all dried out?
I was just cruising around. This is the first forum I've ever been on, so really just trying to get the hang of it. I'm near Lake Charles, so after spending 6 hrs making sure my chickens would be safe and dry, only to watch the dingus's run around in the little bit of rain we had. We took a hit last year with Laura, but I still would have rather seen that storm hit here as we haven't been that prone to flooding. Southeast Louisiana is hurting.

The earth has gone through consistent changes for millennia. I don't believe in just a little over 100 years that humans are the cause of the planet heating up. I do however believe that the powers that be have come up with a plan to make more money and gain more control through a false narrative.

I've done my part and more to not add to polution. I got my jeep in 2014 and it had 97k miles on it, it now has barely over 117k miles on it. 20k miles over 7 years is less than 3k a year. 2019 was excessive since I was moving over 90, and made many trips back and forth, but for the most part I'm doing good. Go to town for groceries once a month (10 miles each way) and 2 trips to the feed store (same mileage) and that's that.

BTW, who can tell me why the right of ways along roads green up faster in spring and stay green longer in fall, than the average yard?

Oh, I agree. A popular phrase today is 'Follow the money trail'.
