The Old Folks Home

Okay, I hate to tell everyone this but I got the news in the ER.....I'm pregnant.

BWA HAHAHHAHHAHAHAHH..Yeah I'm bad. And no I'm not pregnant, thank GOD that delivery service went out of business in 2009.

Yesterday I had a horrible siege of bowel pain/cramps. 15 on the pain scale. When DH found me I was lying on the bathroom floor, vomiting onto paper towels. Sweating like a linebacker at the Rose Bowl. Barely able to respond to him, unable to get up because I was too dizzy. He wanted to call an ambulance. I said no, I knew what was coming next and sure enough within 15 minutes, the cramping died down and I was able to get up and worship the porcelain god. That lasted for about an hour....then I started passing blood. Yeah lots of blood. It eased off, I pushed fluids and ate light all day, Belt better when I went to bed then woke up at 3 this morning and it was worse than ever. My pulse was fast and thready, I hurt. I gave up at 4 and woke my wonderful husband up and said those two letters everyone likes to hear in the early hours of the morning. ER.

Off we went. Got there. Person across the hall has covid. I tighten my mask up and stare at the ceiling. They do a CT scan of my stomach, Lab work and IVs. News came back. Raging Colitis. Nothing else seen except surprise, you have three cysts on your kidneys. Okay, anything to be worried about? No. my white count was up though figuring in with the colitis. So he sent me home with a new prescription and said consider follow up in 6 months for another ct and oh, get a colonoscopy when this settles down.

I grumbled and promised I would. Even took the name of the GI guy he recommended. See, I'm serious guys.

So I'm home, a bit worse for the wear. As for the bleeding? Wear it out and let it go he told me. 🤬 🤬:rant

I'm going to have to go back and catch up but I read a few posts. You guys are the best. @csolis,@ lovesfarms, @penny1960, special hugs to you all. I'm going to finish my cup of coffee, take a pill and do a face plant on the sofa.
I wouldn't go just by what an ER suggests! I just went through similar things at the first part of the year. I was in the ER a couple of times. My PC got smart, had me tested. I had C- Diff. It's aweful! Antibiotics helped. Still suffering. It takes a long time for the bowel to settle down after something like this...months. Anytime you have something going on with the bowel, your diet needs to change. Sorry to say here micro..but coffee is not on the list for colitis! 😳. Go to your PC. See what he suggests. Your results from the ER will be there for the Dr. to see. Now, don't you go thinking I don't want to go to the Dr. to have him telling me what I can and can't eat and drink. 😉 You don't want to through that crap again. Pun almost intended.

I love my Bielefelder Roo.. He's so polite and good to his hens as well. He takes food from my hand so gently, and goes in the house when asked (his hoop coop) Couldn't ask for a Better roo, and his offspring from his wives are beautimous!View attachment 2859436
He's getting more brownish feathering in his back as he matures. Some of his daughters.

Lovely!

I have to laugh every time K.E. is out with his ladies. He didn't have those big clown feet and britches when I got him, but... he also had a bad case of scaley mites which I treated with Bag Balm as soon as I discover it. He had had them from some time from the damage I noticed on his legs (poor guy), Now I wonder how he can even walk with such big clown feet! Makes me laugh so hard to see him waddling around.

I would have named him BOZO if I had known!

Will you all just hush up, and quit bragging about your apple trees, unless you're going to send me some apples. Florida is too hot for apple trees to produce, so the only apples we get, are from the grocery store, unless we know someone that will send us some good ones.

I used to have a friend in Washington State that sent me apples, and I sent her grapefruit. She died, so I haven't had a really good apple in a few years.
Here in the Sacramento Valley, Apples do not do well. Pears get a borer worm that kills them too.

Apples to not like 110F degrees in summer.

I am very happy that yo are recovering!

It sounds like a very painful experience

Oh no, whats up with Becky?
my temperature, my white count, my blood pressure. it's been a rough two days -Cap, i spiked a fever this afternoon. Started cramping again and feeling generally like warmed over death on a soda cracker. I called my regular doctor and told them what happened and about my trip to the ER. They ordered me antibiotics, anti nausea pills (I get to trade holding my head in the waste basket by the sofa and dry heaving for constipation and headaches. Sounds like a plan to me!) I took the nausea meds and antibiotics and two tylenol and my temp is down tonight. Only 99.2 now. Much better than 101.8. Better news and I am holding my breath, crossing my fingers and toes...I haven't passed blood in the past 5 hours.:wee:weeyeah I know TMI but @lovesfarns knows what I'm talking about.

Yeah, well, I can't say I feel like the little dancing emojis. My left guts are as sore as hell and I told DH when he volunteered to feed the chooks for me with me coaching him along that my left bowel feels like my right bowel did when I had my appendix ripped out along with my gall bladder.

Plan now is that I see the my doctor on Wednesday to see how I'm doing, go over things, devise a plan and see if he wants to change any meds.

Then there is that ever so delightful trip to the GI and discussion about the even more delightful colonoscopy so they can figure out what is going on with my colon. Good news nothing suspicious on the CT. as far as my digestive track is concerned outside of the colitis, but what's going on in the colon is the mystery. Is it Crohns or is it Inflammatory Bowel Disease. That's like asking somebody, okay would you rather I hack off your thumb or your big toe?

Buy Bless him, my husband took on feeding and watering with me coaching him on. he was amazed at how many feeders and waterers I have. Well you don't understand...I told him. I want to make sure EVERYONE eats and drinks.

I promised him to simplify things.
