The Old Folks Home

We do too cap, still didn't stop the neighbor across the road and west from us and more than a quarter mile away from having his chain locked 2 inch pipe gate bulldozed open by a truck and his hunting equipment stolen in broad daylight. That's with people across the street from him including one nosey parker who knows everyone's business.

You must live in a very secure area. Once lived on a well lit main street in the city with two doberman pinschers on guard. Still had 2 hanging baskets I had bought for my mom for mother's day stolen off the fenced in front porch.

People drive by, see something they want, stop their car, run up, grab it, and off they go.

Next door neighbor in IL a quarter mile away had somebody drive by, didn't see anyone home as they were out of state at a funeral, threw a brick through their picture window and robbed them blind.

It does happen. Sorry. Being victims makes one a bit over cautious.

It's ok, better safe than sorry. We do have to drive on 2 dirt roads to get to our house. We live at the end of a dirt road. So no one drives by except UPS to deliver stuff. We do lock our doors at night, and our garage and workshop if we both leave the property.

We are fortunate in our tiny town. We lock up at night garages and house .. Never thought to lock the doors when we leave .. The neighbor close to us keeps an eye on our place.. She was saying tonight they know who comes over for eggs .. or my other friends..
The two wood coops have two windows each covered in hardware cloth

We're at the end of a dead end dirt road too. 5 houses on the road, everyone knows everyone, knows the vehicles.
