I've done that on door knockers, burns like crazy,Dang it, just came in from giving the birds their bedtime scratch grain treat and didn't see a yellow jacket that was sitting on the inside door handle on the feed room door. Grabbed the handle, felt something sharp, looked down and the little rat you know what was on the floor. When I got done jumping up and down on it, I came inside, grabbed two Benedryl, put an ice pack on my hand and DH set an epi-pen by me just in case.
30 minutes later the pain is lessened and the swelling is setting in so I think the window for needing an epi pen is passed.
Man I hate those things.
I guess DD2 knows of the dangerous nature of DHMO, she hardly ever consumes it. DW and I, on the other hand, are gonna die 'cause we ingest a fair bit of it daily.By the end of the day I will have consumed over 80 ounces of the chemical and crave more event even though it will have me up to the bathroom at least twice.

dang cslois how many coops do you have?Well, I managed to get the two large runs cleaned out today and the hen houses rebedded with shavings. Black Star was sitting in the big house minding her own business but politely left so I could clean. As soon as I was done, she and Bruce were in there inspecting my work. Got all the feathers and the dead possum cleared out. POS! So, I'm down to 7 hens in there, thinking about putting Mara and Starburst in with that group. Then recombining those left with King wheaties and his girls in the Large round pen and leaving the hoop coop made from an old green house for a batchelor pad for the corn kernels that turn out to be cockerels. Or,,,,,,,,,,, I could move KE and his two ladies in with the left over pullets. Maybe they would like that. Hmmmm..
And I did see Owlie come out of the nesting box, leaving a nice fresh hot egg behind. I can say she's NOT the blue egg layer. Only 3 more pullets to catch at egg laying to discover who is doing it.
Finally, the last of the Calico Princess gals laid an egg today. Tiny little thing, laying on the ground. The other three pullets in that coop have been steadily laying in the big nest they built.
btw, my counting may be off, but I counted 7 in there! It's an automatic feature of my brain. Count everything.Peeps discovered the water and food
