The Old Folks Home

While at the retirement party, Dd #1 mentioned needing a mani/pedi to her younger sister. Dd #2 said she had the hook-up on that, and arrangements were made for us to go get them the next day. I think they did a good job. I haven't had a mani/pedi in a couple years. Things have changed a lot, since I last got one.

When we got back home from our girl's day outing, we were greeted by Dh in the yard with his shotgun, and various neighbors walking around with firearms. Bobcats.

3 nights ago, Dh mentioned that out of the corner of his eye, he saw what he thought was possibly a dog, or coyote at the end of the drive. He didn't replay the video, but I told him to keep watch to see if it headed down our drive. It didn't appear to. The next morning, one of the neighbors mentioned that a bobcat had come to his place, and killed one of his chickens. It didn't walk directly down the drive, but kept back, hidden on the property, but on the same path. We've been on the lookout, but nothing. The threat seemed to have passed.

UNTIL yesterday. The man across the drive, had his horses out, and 2 bobcats were trying to attack them. In broad daylight. He ran out shooting his pistol, but didn't hit them, so it scared them off toward our place. Dh grabbed the shotgun, but they then headed to another neighbor's place. He came running out with his rifle. The bobcats then headed to another neighbor's place where they had killed the chicken. The neighbors were in hot pursuit, but getting winded by now. These neighbors are not exactly real close by, so they had covered quite a bit of terrain. The bobcats kept going, and finally lost the neighbors. The whole neighborhood is on high alert now. Not the first time they've been on alert. For the most part, none of them are gun happy, or careless with firearms, so that's a plus.

@getaclue that is just plain scary.

We have Bobbi's around here also but I don't think I've ever heard of them staging a daytime attack on anything. Especially something as big as a horse.

They must be desperate for food or sick. Since you all down there don't have the ridiculous winter weather that we are all experiencing up here I can't imagine the weather being a detriment to them hunting.

I knew most of them had never been to this particular restaurant, just by the way they were dressed.
So they all arrived at a $$$$ restaurant without warning from the organizers? That is sort of unforgivable. If the company isn't paying, they need to take the guests finances into consideration.

The man across the drive, had his horses out, and 2 bobcats were trying to attack them.
Like Micro said. I wonder if they are rabid or something. Bobcats attacking horses seems SO unlikely unless there is nothing else to eat.
