The Old Folks Home

We hit 50° here today. I let all the goats out in the holding area near the barn, after i finished cutting a hole for them to exit through. First time they have been outside since the babies were born. I was out there in the goat pasture for quite a while, adding zip ties to be sure the chicken wire stays up over the fence, so the babies can't escape. Also moved a lot of downed branches and rocks.
Yea, you don't want a repeat of what happened last time.

Tiny Dancer was announcing his arrival as soon as the crate went into the round pen. I didn't want him to be lonely. Starshine came immediately to check out the new roo... man what a squeeky thing! Can you say "Size Matters!"View attachment 2959592View attachment 2959600
A silver duck wing rooster? SQUEEEEEELLLLL. I got about 12 of those wonderful little heathens. Love them to pieces.

Don't underestimate him. One of them managed to cover one of my Fayoumi hens. Where there is a will there is a way. They are definitely big roosters in small packages.

You ain't seen nothin till you see them pile on a full sized rooster who shouldn't be in their run. Death by a thousand tiny pecks? I wouldn't put it past them.

Looked to me like a Serama, but Amanda said Nooooooooo, he's a bantam! She bought him as a chick from TSC and he was in the bantam drawer.

Here's what Hoovers Hatchery has, and what TSC buys from. Closest I can get to what might have been... She got 3 and they all ended up being roosters.
