The Old Folks Home

Morning! More coffee is on the way!

Ok, I give up. I'm going to get a pair of readers when I go to the store today. Type has gotten too small, and my arms get tired of holding books way "out there."

I made it to 60 without, so I figure I did ok.
I got my eyes checked every two years due to astigmatism.. When I was approaching 50 I had to get bifocals... So I called my dad on the phone and announced the news like this.."Gee pop, you are really getting old, because I just got bifocals".

Hello, Wisher! I am straight up replacing my grown kids and my husband (who has Alzheimers) with chickens, darn it. No bones about it. We had to put my husband in memory care last fall, and after a few months of decompressing (it really felt like I was squashed), I have ordered chickens. I won't see them until late April, but it cheers my heart to have that expectation. I think you definitely need your chickens!

Besides Gator, I was living alone.. Bought an acre and a half and started clearing it almost 3 years ago.. Found an old dog pen to the east of the house, buried in privet and underbrush. So once I got things cleared in a big area, I decided chickens would be a good fit.. And now I have over 40... They are fun, and keep you busy. Lots of exercise too and fresh air is always a good thing. I love sitting out with 'the kids' in the sun, enjoying their chatter and activity. Best of luck with yours. :thumbsup
