This is the second year my grands have done virtual schooling. Last year my daughter was going to college, so was able to be the co-teacher with them. This year, she's working, so I got the job of co-teaching. Last year's curriculum was laid out well, and not too hard for the students, and parents to follow. They changed all that this year. I've been complaining about the curriculum since day 1.
In addition to changing the curriculum, they changed all the ways regarding student/teacher interaction, in regards to doing lessons, and tests. Everything has to be scheduled, of course, and it includes lots of Zoom meetings. I've been saying for the past couple months, there is a problem with their scheduler, and Zoom. Zoom would say that we were logged in, and waiting for the teacher to let us in the zoom meeting. The teacher would call saying she was in the zoom room, but it wasn't showing us as being logged in. More recently, others have complained too. The complaints have been ignored. Yesterday the system had a nervous breakdown. Many of the kids that were scheduled, it deleted. Others, it moved to other dates, times. Others were added in, even though they were not scheduled. About half the teachers could not get into their zoom rooms.
I had appointments scheduled for all 3 kids for today to do an end-of-chapter review. Early this morning, my phone began blowing up. Throughout the day, every teacher, in every subject called to do the end-of chapter reviews by phone. They couldn't schedule them, they couldn't do the zoom meetings, but they were free right then, and could do them.
They knocked out about 3 days worth of reviews, in one day for me. Imagine, now that the system is broke, it's working better than before.
