Well, after some deliberations and waiting on $$ to do the doors for the pens out back, a lightning bolt struck from above. No, I didn't need more lumber, no I didn't need another cattle panel for the doors.. I had two pieces of 6"x 2" x 33", and I didn't need a full cattle panel to make the arch for the tarp. So I got my saw and my saws-all out and went to work. And I had enough chicken wire in the shed to wrap the doors with. So, with no money out of pocket I have two drawbridge type gates that are light weight and strong enough to handle abuse. They are hinged on the bottom. I can move the first flock in to A Barracks tonight, and the second one in to B Barracks tomorrow night. That gives me time to excavate floors and clean the two older coops before I need to move babies out of the brooders.

I'll take a photo tomorrow when King Wheaties and his gals are installed. To make them more comfy I'm moving their nesting box in the pen with them. For privacy and wind break issues, I'll use those breathable cloth panels designed for fences. For now, they need all the air they can get since it gets hot in the summer months. They have the magnolia tree just to the north, two oak trees to the south that have yet to get leaves, and 3 Maple trees to the south that will provide afternoon shade.
