The Old Folks Home

Hello everyone! We have been having unseasonably warm weather here for most of the winter. Today, it is currently 33° out there and drizzling. Therefore, i plan to do some cleaning up inside today. My least favorite chore, but someone has to do it!

This morning I asked Dh if the power had gone out while we were all at the fair. Nope. He reminded me of the time change. I'll reset the ones that don't change automatically, when I get to it. Taking the kids to the fair, wore us all out. Dh and I had to go to a Lynyrd Skynyrd concert tonight. Stick a fork in me, I'm done. Here shortly I'm going to hit the recliner, and try to watch some tv, but I bet when I hit the recliner, I'll be out like a light. The clocks can wait.

How did Lynard Skynyrd sound now that the final original member has passed. Still have the appeal?

Cap, funny how you consider 33 to be "unseasonably warm", while I consider those temps downright cold. Brrrrrrrr.

No, the average temperature has been a lot higher. I have been working outside without sweater or jacket on many occasions. One day it was nearly 80°, and i wore shorts and t shirt!
Today was the first day to have snow stick this winter.

Yes, I spent a small fortune at the fair, mostly at 2 booths. 1. The Watkins booth. Every year I restock, and try to add a couple bottles of flavored extracts, and spices that I don't already have. 2. The olive oil, vinaigrette booth.

I had bought several bottles of oils, and vinaigrettes when I went last time. After doing the refrigerator test, on the olive oil, and seeing it's a high quality product, I decided to get a large bottle of the one I didn't get before. I also got a few more flavors of the vinaigrettes. In addition to using them on salads, or as a dipping sauce for baked breads, they work very well as a flavoring for meats. Ever pour Italian dressing on a pork roast for baking? Same principle.
