I've never been to the county fair here as this is our first year or maybe second. I don't know at this time of the morning.

There's an orchard where I buy honey by the gallon. I'm nearly out, and I bought 2 gallons last year. Two years ago, it was $48/gallon. Last year, $55.

Very much looking forward to having my own. I think I might want to get a second hive next spring.

Actually, I've read that it's helpful for new beekeepers to have 2 hives, so they can compare them. If something is different, then it's more obvious that something might be going sideways with one of them. If you only have one hive (as we do), you don't know if anything is wrong, because that's all you see.

Good morning. Beekeeping can be fun. I had them ages ago.

Good luck with your beekeeping. I wanted to do that, but we never got the trees, plants, etc. to feed them, so they could stay. Now, my health is not to where I'm able to tackle starting a project like that.

I just finished giving my grandson a haircut. It's his first one, since school let out. I cut hair out on the patio. The trick was, getting him up early enough, so it wasn't blazing hot out there, and I could finish it without burning up. He wasn't overly happy, but he complied. Now that it's done, he loves the cut, and is glad he got up early for me to do it.

Good Morning Old Folks. I barter eggs with a barber for my hair cuts. That works for both of us. As for honey we need the pollinators more than the honey. For some time I've looked at those new model hives that you can turn a valve and the honey will drip out in your container without all the scraping and such. They are cheap but sure look convenient. I got the oil changed this morning so I'm road ready once again.

Ya need pollinators bad. Maybe the humidity is bad for them.

There are thousands of hives in the FL citrus area making Orange Blossom honey every year in high humidity hives. I'm more concerned about the virus that is infecting bees and I think I remember something about mites that get into hives also.
