The Old Folks Home

Yeah, I’m not sure what’s going on with it. I need to figure it out. Maybe take it somewhere.
There is a place in the mall that does battery replacements on phones, don't know if they do other "troubleshooting". Might be worth a look at a mall in your area for a similar kiosk.

Thanks! That’s a good idea.

When my phone said no sim, taking the sim card out and reseating it worked.

My go-to is putting the phone (or tablet, or computer) in the freezer. I don't know why it works, but it often does.

Try turning the phone off.

A reset to factory settings might work depending on the problem. Make sure you back up anything you want to keep.

Oh my. Yes please be careful not to trip and faceplant.

What is wrong with the old phones?
And how poor is your cell service? I thought about maybe getting a booster but more often than not our phones show "No Service" or "SOS only". Not sure there is enough of a signal to boost. Don't want to waste money on something that will not work.
Actually... I already tripped and face planted... in my house...

We have stacks of bookcase parts... everywhere....

I tripped right after my PT appointment... all the nice work the lady did... ruined...

Yeah... I didn't mention on this thread... I tore something in my shoulder... torn badly enough so that the bone is no longer sitting like it should.. it is so bad, that at first glance the doc thought it was dislocated....

MRI scheduled for the 30th.

As to phones... you MIGHT get way better reception with a new phone. One of my upgrades, the new phone had worlds better connection.

To know for sure, find a friend with a snazzy new phone, and ask them to come to your house.

And Verizon service. If we had ATT/T-mobile we would be in fat city, the tower is less than 3/4 mile north of us. But TracFone uses Verizon unless there is NO Verizon service in the area. And I'm not willing to spend many many many hundreds of $$ for Contract service. TF costs me $65/year.

Oh great, I just did a Google search to see if there was some way to switch a Tracfone off Verizon and found that Verizon now owns TracFone. So my guess is: a BIG FAT NO!!!!!
