The Old Folks Home

So whatever it is, is big and strong and builds huge nests. Raccoons don't usually build nests. Foxes will build nests, but I doubt your greenhouse would be the place a fox would build, nor could it fling a trap 4 feet away. So what are you guessing it is? Everything I think of around here is improbable, like beavers, badgers, etc.
No idea. I used a larger trap this time. No skunk smell, and if it's still in there it's cautious enough to avoid drawing my attention.

I put the last greenhouse panel up on the door, closed the high window, and we'll see.

As for the trap, I think it was just in the way of a frantic and frightened animal.

Why would you set a trap when you have no idea what you're dealing with? When it made the commotion, did you go see what it might be? Maybe tonight you can walk out there around 8, 9, 10, and see if you can catch a glimpse of whatever it is.
The first night it woke me up from a sound sleep. The second night I was doing other things and couldn't get there soon enough. Why not set a trap?
