Definitely! It sounds like you need a bigger trap!
No idea. I used a larger trap this time. No skunk smell, and if it's still in there it's cautious enough to avoid drawing my attention. So whatever it is, is big and strong and builds huge nests. Raccoons don't usually build nests. Foxes will build nests, but I doubt your greenhouse would be the place a fox would build, nor could it fling a trap 4 feet away. So what are you guessing it is? Everything I think of around here is improbable, like beavers, badgers, etc.
The first night it woke me up from a sound sleep. The second night I was doing other things and couldn't get there soon enough. Why not set a trap? Why would you set a trap when you have no idea what you're dealing with? When it made the commotion, did you go see what it might be? Maybe tonight you can walk out there around 8, 9, 10, and see if you can catch a glimpse of whatever it is.
Unfortunately, no. I'm hoping it didn't come back last night, but we'll see.Do you have a trail cam you can set up?
Or has become trap educated/shy.No noise last night and the trap is untouched. I think my unwanted tenant vacated.
