Where I worked, (police dept.)there was no excuse not to make it to work, none. So, I had to be vigilant in keeping up with the future weather forecasts and take a vacation day or two. I lived the farthest so they'd even call me on my days off if a bad storm was coming to make sure I knew about it so could take off for it. Otherwise...Did 38 mile commute for 25+ years. It. Gets. OLD! Especially this time of year, living in the boonies with the unplowed roads, slush, slop, snow, ice.
Now, when the local weather says that there's a slide off and back up on the highway, DH and I turn to each other and say, "Well, that does it! I'm not going to work today!"![]()
