The Old Folks Home

Last Monday I hit over 30 lbs lost and at the ortho appointment that day I was at an acceptable-for-insurance-purposes BMI and so we set a date for my first knee replacement on January 17th.
Since then I have been filling out the office's medical passport which requires rather a bit of digging for info. More things to do and appointments coming up: EKG, chest xray, blood draw. Hopefully not another sleep study.
Looking forward to being quasi-mobile again. (I mean, I sort of get around now, just not very quickly)
That is good news!

I made English toffee yesterday and will make butter cookies tomorrow. I will also make molasses cookies.

We have been getting a good amount of rain the week but not enough to cause floods.
English toffee is something I used to always make and haven't. I'll have to make some now that you got my mouth watering! I love that stuff!

The recipe I made has Irish Cream extract in it. It is very good tasting.

The Gnome King is assembled.

Good morning Old Folks. I'm up and had a chunk or is it a hunk of cinnamon bread and am getting ready to make the morning rounds. Getting ready means adding a few layers of cotton over me and putting on a new skull cap my granddaughter knitted for me. She didn't bother to wrap it a she knew that I needed it now. It fits a little better than the one her aunt made for me. Now I can keep the chickens confused wearing the green one one day and the blue one the next. :)

I got stuck on a tough transcription so haven't been to bed yet. :barnie

Now I have to go let the adults out of the coop, and open the aviary so the little 2-month-old silkies can come out to play. They're with Charlotte, a hen that can't learn to stay home so she's in jail with them. Glad they all get along! Here's a link to the story if interested.

So this is good morning Old Folks and goodnight Old Folks all at the same time! Be good, and be well!
