The Old Folks Home

Maybe clover a little patch of it.
Even wheat seed.
Clover is already planted in another area and I'm working on replacing the grass with flax, oats and wheat.

Ground covers in this area probably won't be planted until next spring, when the woodchips will have started to break down. Nasturium and sweet potatoes around the edge this year, I think. Maybe borage.

The grass will be smothered by the woodchips this year, so major planting of the understory will wait until next spting.

Good morning OF. Enjoy the weather from your rocking chairs.
I need to get done with building coops and runs before I have time to rock. We do have a butterfly garden just off the porch in the early phase so that we can rock and watch both the hummingbirds and butterflies. It will be 2-3 years before it matures to be like the one we had in TN.

This was taken outside the kitchen window in TN. The garden was 3 years old when this was taken.
