The Old Folks Home

Good day at the cardiologist. No further deterioration of my aortic valve. I asked him if I could start running again. His reply, "Get a good pair of shoes and use common sense." Will I, or won't I ? The Princess says, "No way."
I would go back to running, buy my Knees cannot handle that anymore.

No rain? In Florida? When we lived there it rained often. Fernandina Beach.
A major portion of my life was spent in FL down in the south central area. A tidbit of info I read once about the state is that it is farther from Key West to Pensacola than it is from Pensacola to St. Louis, MO. There are many different weather patterns in such a long distance. During the time I was spending a lot of time caring for my mother taking her to a new doctor she just knew would fix things ( they never did) I would get an interesting history lesson of things that happened when she was young and growing up. During one of the longest droughts ever endured in the area where we lived it got so bad the city fathers got together and hired a Seminole Indian rainmaker to come up and do his magic. After a few hours it got dark during the day. The sky turn black. The city canning plants shut down and the sent employees home. People feared for their lives. It did rain the next day. There are dry months in the area where I lived. It's the norm for the summer months to have frequent afternoon showers some with a little fireworks. Winters are usually somewhat drier. I never will forget that little story my mom told me about. Things that never made it to the history books.

The problem is that I won't just 'go for a run'. It tends to become addictive for me.
I'd be happy if I could just take up walking again like I did while still at an office job. After 5pm some days I would walk 10 miles. During bad weather I went to the gym and used a treadmill with a beautiful view of a lake with wildlife on it. When weather allowed I got to use the track at the high school and just walk laps without walking on uneven ground or having to deal with cars flying by.
