The Old Folks Home

Expensive trip to Menards for stuff for the bathroom remodel. I wasn't planning on the trip, but the dirt roads are dry, and they won't be tomorrow when we're supposed to get rain.

This was important because we brought home drywall in the trailer.
I was in Michigan (East Lansing) last week visiting with kids and grands. We had beautiful weather, Sally! Love me some Menards trips! 🧰🪚🔨🪜🪴

I went to my cardiologist's office for my stress test. His office will call tomorrow with the results. I did the treadmill, not the chemical test. Yeah, I was able to do it without a hitch.
I have a stress test coming in September and I think it is chemical. Then 2 more cardio tests after that. Not all the same day.

Sally, with the current economic situation in our country, a LOT of people are seriously stressed. It's become a choice between which bills to pay, and how many groceries they can afford. In 2 states, they've gone in and exterminated all the poultry, meaning that those people can't even supplement their food supply by raising their own food sources. The weather this year for most of the country, has not been conducive of an abundant crop/harvest, to supplement peoples' produce supplies. Gas keeps going up. Electric prices keep going up. Insurance prices keep going up. On top of all that, there are major shortages in our supply chain, so there are quite a few things that are either unavailable, or in very short supply.

Housing costs are way up too. People are using up their savings, and any extra money they had tucked away for a rainy day. Yeah, the depression, doom & gloom attitude is understandably more commonplace, and getting worse.

Oh, yes, I am very aware of those issues. I am dealing with them too.

This person has some options, but "that's too much work," or "hubby would never go for that," or "I don't have time for that."

When I retired and said I was very busy, she said, "But you have all that extra time now!" She has 24 hours in a day, just as I do. When she retired, I said, "So now you have more time to do XYZ. You aren't working 10-12 hours a day and spending another hour commuting." I got laughter in reply.

I'm giving up on making suggestions. I'm also running out of topics to talk/text about with her.
