The Old Folks Home

:duc Where is this??
I'd like to know too.... If so I'm stocking up on feed and a place to hide a few pets. I'll make a sound proof closet in the sunroom for Legs and hide some pullets away while they are at work here. I'll get a good recording of Legs crowing and play it in the mornings for the neighbors to hear. As soon as some one comments I'll ask how they like my recording... Sounds like another power grab by someone...

Expensive trip to Menards for stuff for the bathroom remodel. I wasn't planning on the trip, but the dirt roads are dry, and they won't be tomorrow when we're supposed to get rain.

This was important because we brought home drywall in the trailer.
It is important to keep dry wall away from water!

I found a news article that said poultry were slaughtered in Iowa and Minnesota two months ago but it was commercial flocks. The big problem is that bird flu is now in cattle in 9 states.

There is nothing about home flocks though. That did happen in California some years ago but that was from New Castle Disease. That outbreak has been contained.

Given the nature of Social Media, someone may have sent the New Castle Disease information out as though it was current.

If it isn't one thing, it is another.

I have gotten tired of all the excitement.

If the world comes to an end, so be it. :idunno

I have seeds, I have animals, I have supplies.... sure I could be way better prepared... but eh...

It is what it is, and it will be what it will be. I am really glad that I am further away from civilization.

At the same time though... my older sis and a cousin of mine are super sure that the US will have a huge mess (civil unrest and such), and are leaving the US within the next month.

Interesting. :old

Oh yeah!

I forgot to mention the special board called GO Board (or something like that?) that goes behind the shower where the drywall would go. It's waterproof. Much more expensive than drywall and I was surprised at how light it is!

There is also a kind for the bathroom that is mold resistant. I really should have used that kind in my bathrooms. :hide

The mold/mildew on the ceiling of our bathroom was the worst part of it, IMO. Even though we're going to put in a new ceiling, we painted over the old. Didn't even get it all coated. But we covered up the dang mildew.
Are you ripping out the molded ceiling sheet rock and replacing?

Also... I kept thinking one of those new bathroom fans that turns on when it senses humidity might be good.
